Not a bad place, I'm not a vegan or gluten free to be clear as a first. We came as a relaxing little treat after a long day in Munich. We just wanted somewhere to chill for a little bit and have a snack and it did just that. I will say their menu is a bit small more leaning on a cafe for coffee and snacks than lunch which is perfectly fine.
I will note that I'm not sure if there was some confusion with the waitress or not. When she had come to take our order my mother wasn't present and we weren't sure what she wanted so I told her she went to the bathroom and we needed a bit longer. Nobody came over to take our order after my mother had returned however until we got someone's attention and she seemed unsure even as to what was going on. Again this may have been a confusion on the part of our communication together but it was a bit of a wait even for what we ordered which were just a few pretzels with butter, and a bowl of fruit with drinks. Which was a bit surprising. It did seem they were understaffed for servers given the amount of people in there so I definitely credit them for that. They were all very kind and sweet, it was hot out so the cats were lazy and tired lounging around, no surprise there. For people expecting a ton of cats to sit in their laps and play with them all the time, it's a cafe, not a petting zoo or a pet store. I you want to play exclusively with cats you're in the wrong place. Have a drink, have a snack, enjoy the cats presence but don't be a pester! This is their home and they're well within their right to lounge and the cats especially are within their right to refuse you service! Their individual animals not your personal pet.
All the best, good people, cute establishment, cute cats and pretty tasty food just a confusing and unsure what happened service wise. I'd definitely return even if the menu didn't change. Fully suppport...
Read moreThe coffee here has only few cats and it is not allowed to pet them. If this is German rule all fine, but this can be communicated nicely and friendly to the guests. The service personnel was super unfriendly and the lady told us „Ich will das nicht mehr sehen“ in a super rude way when I wanted to take the cat to pet it as my nephew wanted to see it. Rules are rules and it’s fine and can be explained, the guests should be welcomed and explained and not rudely talked to. I will never come again and can’t recommend it. To be just surrounded with few cats for a coffee break without a possibility of interaction and a rude personnel…. The only plus-the coffee was nice, that’s why the 3 stars. To add up- when we came first we were told there is no place inside, although a lot of tables we saw were free. Then we said we stay until the reservation guests come -the lady told us then we have 20 min. We ended up staying 45 min and nobody showed up and there were still half of tables inside non occupied. While we were there there came another lady with a small kid - they also returned her and she was at the window with the small boy just looking inside for 20min or so, at the end they placed her outside - on 13 degrees with a toddler! As I said- all time 1/3 -1/2 of the tables inside were not occupied. Maybe the service ladies had a bad day. But our experience was over the border of non welcoming, not friendly and rude!
PS- in Korea there are also caffees of this type (I assume this was inspired from there) - the difference - there the service personnel explains about the animals and which one is friendly where they are from etc. and you are allowed to pet them. If this is to be a copy of the Asian animal coffee places -...
Read moreLovely cafe with vegan food options. First and foremost, I would really recommend reserving a table. My boyfriend and I reserved a table for Saturday afternoon and I’m glad we did, as it got quite busy and people (I assume without reservations) were turned away. Next time we would come in the evening, or during a time when it’s not so busy. Not only do I prefer a more quiet cafe, but the cats were probably a bit overwhelmed with all the people and the noise, so we didn’t get to see much of them. There were a lot of children present during our visit, and although they were constantly around one of the cats, which annoyed me, they behaved well enough and didn’t annoy the cat too much, I think/hope. At one point a parent came to control them :) Also one of the staff members told the children to let the cat be, so the staff clearly look after the comfort of the cats and try to harmonize the interactions. Second point, the food was quite delicious. I like to try out vegan food and I was really excited to try the beyond burger for the first time. I was not disappointed. I would love to try the other dishes on the menu, as well as the cakes next time. The service was good, they were very busy but we still got our order put in and our food prepared quite quickly. One of the waitresses was quite stressed and she accidentally knocked over my boyfriend’s drink, causing a bit to spill on the table and almost on him, but she apologized and offered a new drink :) Overall, my boyfriend and I were happy with the experience and would love to come back again. Hopefully the cats will be more present and less overwhelmed next time, and therefore more open to pets...
