BISTRO — Restaurant in Munich

Didn't eat here, only drank - but found it solely wanting.

Being a hotel bar, it doesn't seem to be under pressure to do particularly well. I strolled in on my first evening for a drink, finding it deserted of staff, having to enquire at the check-in desk if it was actually open. Eventually I managed to get a beer.

Based on that service for the first night, I decided against eating there - I ate out instead. On the night I returned for a final drink I found a similar experience; it was often deserted behind the servary and when staff eventually showed up, the barman spent more time fiddling with the till whilst people queued for drinks.

I found it quicker to walk out of the hotel and onto the next bar to get served. It really feels understaffed, or they're not really interested in...

If you can get someone's attention you'll find about 7 items on the menu. I had tomato soup with croutons, which was good, a small salad, emphasis on small, and 3 small baguette slices. Total was €24. My partner had hamburger, fries and drink for €28. Not a good value. The next day we went to grab something and they said it was closed, on a Wednesday. What? You're a hotel with a restaurant! So sad. Ate a dry sandwich. I'm done...

The spaghetti was surprisingly good for a hotel, I didn’t expect that. The portion size was also good. The beer you can’t get wrong 😀. The atmosphere is a little dull and quite not alot of people around at the bar or restaurant. I imagine all the people are in the city. Only quite few stay around here. But if you are staying at the hotel or interested in a quite evening...
