Boulangerie Dompierre - Tengstr. 31 — Restaurant in Munich

Good bakery! Had a seat in one of the two small tables in the bakery, just for a quick coffee and croissant for a weekend breakfast. Latte macchiato and croissant were both great, croissant not too oily but had just the right mix of moisture and crispness. The staff were wearing masks and there was a clear shield at the counter, which I think is good protection for tackling COVID-19. We were wearing masks the whole time while inside, except when having the croissants and coffees. Als gebürtiger Franzose und nach unserem diesjährigen Urlaub in der Bretagne mit allerbester französischer (Brot-) verkostung habe ich zwei Mal die Backbaren bei Dompierre ausprobiert und kann mir gewissermaßen ein objektives Urteil darüber bilden, wie authentisch französisch die Backwaren bei Dompierre sind. Im großen und ganzen: es ist zwar meist ein echter Franzose hinter dem Tresen aber das Ergebnis ist eher enttäuschend. sowohl das "Aushängebrot" Dompierre als auch das Bio-Bageutte sind weit entfernt von der Luftigkeit eines echten französischen Baguette oder Flutes oder eines Baguette Traditionelle. Es handelt sich um um Standard deutsches Weissbrot der etwas besseren Art, da gut (und von Hand) durchgebacken und nicht aufgebacken. das Dompierre ist mit 3,80€ ebenso wie das Baguette völlig überteuert. das Pain aux raisins ist ausgesprochen rustikal und ich habe es in dieser Form noch nie in Frankreich gesehen. Weder authentisch noch mein Geschmack. das Pain au chocolat und die Croissants sind gut, aber mal ehrlich, muss ich 1,50€ für ein Croissant ausgeben, wenn ich bei Lidl für 35 cent ein Croissant bekomme, das geschmacklich und von der Backqualität kaum hintenansteht? Eher nicht. Fazit: das Dompierre ist etwas für versnobbte zentral-Münchner, denen der Schein wichtiger ist und die keine Ahnung haben, wie phantastisch französische Backwaren...

As an almond croissant connoisseur (😂), I think that this boulangerie did an ok job - not overwhelming, also not disappointing. The bread had all the elements, good covering of almonds and powdered sugar and a subtle almond paste. The bread, however, was rather dry and the amount of almond paste was little… it could have had a more dominant taste/flavour. All in all, satisfied but would have expected more as the place...
