One of my favorite spots in Munich while visiting. If you're looking for a cozy late night spot to sip on some tea and eat a little dessert, this is the spot to go. Everytime I went, there was no wait, and we were seated immediately. And I appreciated that everyone could speak English! Even more impressive, I was asking a staff member if there were any late night food places in Munich. She gave me a helpful response, and then asked if I was Korean. We ended up having a lovely conversation all in Korean! That was such a lovely surprise and speaks to the internationality of this cafe. In total, I tried the apfelstrudel, oat cappucino, zuchinni cake, and a peanut banana cake. (Don't worry, it was on separate occasions). My favorite was the zuchinni cake (not too sweet, well spiced, and moist) and the apfelstrudel (classic Bavarian dessert!). Price wise, I mean it's Munich, but I thought it was fair and didn't take too much note of it. Would come here again, it's a lovely local establishment with cozy and earnest vibes.

This is ridiculous! I had a business meeting with one of our clients from the UK and was truly embarrassed the waitress not only asked for my vaccination certificate which I have and know is almost required everywhere in Munich but also asked for my ID. This is a highly confidential document which should never be required to be shown for only drinking a coffee! Most restaurants and bars only ask for the vaccine certificate or an antigen test but this place only accept PCR/vaccine certificates and on top of it also asks for your ID. I used to really like this place but will never step a foot in there again. Also it has become ridiculously expensive but luckily Maxvorstadt has other lovely cafes and bars to go to ! Do not understand me wrong I am absolutely pro vaccine but this is just too much and it is only a cafe not a club ! No distance? No mask? At a stage that we know that even vaccinated people can carry Covid ?

Even though it's a cafe, the menu of approx 20 pages has only 2 pages for food, one for desserts and rest are all for wine, so the food options are limited. The avocado toast and salad breakfast had the same dressing in the guacamole and in the salad, making both taste pretty much the same 🤷. The hot chocolate was more like hot cocoa and lacked the richness, thickness and intense flavour which a good hot chocolate is supposed to have. T The wine collection, service, location and ambience is excellent however, there is a scope for improvement in the food.

It pains me to write a poor review for this place, because I really really wanted to like it.

What I liked: Great service staff. The waiters were super nice and kind, and had a smile on their face throughout. Pleasant ambiance. It’s the right amount of classy decor combined with 70-80s music. House-made lemonades. Really flavourful, not too sweet, and great quantity for the price.

What I disliked: The food at large was horrible. I wish there was any saving grace, but I have nothing nice to say about it. I ordered a breakfast avocado toast with Spiegelei, paid 16.2 for the thing, and got small piece of hard toast with an avocado paste, an undercooked egg a salad on the side. The egg white was not even cooked properly, there was no seasoning whatsoever, the avocado tasted horrendous, and it was really small for the price I paid. I couldn’t even finish the thing and had to scrape off the avocado paste to somehow eat the bread. We also ordered Pesto pasta which was a pasta salad at best. It was a huge bowl of farfalle tossed together with spoonful of pesto. We could just taste the oil and a little bit of green. Again, no seasoning whatsoever.

I wouldn’t recommend this place for its food. Go there for the beverages and the ambiance, and save yourself the trouble of blowing up 30+ EUR on...

We were told it might take 15 minutes to get a table, but it was 0 degrees outside, freezing cold. With our 5-year-old child, we ordered coffees to try and stay warm while sitting outside. Each time the waitress passed by, we reminded her to move us indoors as soon as possible because we were freezing. She assured us that she would seat us inside as soon as a table became available, even if it meant splitting between different tables.

After waiting for 45 minutes, we noticed a table freeing up and went inside to escape the cold with our child. However, the cafe manager, who was also the bartender, approached us and stated that another group, who had been waiting for only 20 minutes and consisted entirely of adults, would be seated at that table because he had promised it to them first. Despite our situation with a freezing child, they forced us back outside and refused to let us take the table.

The manager’s attitude was extremely rude, and this experience has ensured we will never visit this cafe again. Their system lacks ethics and prioritizes groups over children freezing in the cold. The coffees were served cold, and the service was appalling. I strongly recommend avoiding this cafe at all costs! The high ratings are misleading, and the cafe...
