Me and my husband booked this table weeks ahead as it was our wedding anniversary week and we were in Munich for a short trip. We live in Vienna, Austria so we know fairly well how a schnitzel should be like and taste, since we ate one of the best ones in Vienna and often from different places. We came here as many articles said this place had the best one in Munich. The place was packed and even with reservation we still waited around 15 minutes to be seated as this place was a tavern/pub type as we call in Romania (terasฤ) place was packed with walkins. Staff was ok but we were asked by 3 different staff members about our reservation. We waited 40 minutes for the schnitzel (same wait time as for a Paella) when the dish came by what a disappointment we got! I had a first chew out of my vegetarian schnitzeland I couldn't even cut it, when I tasted it I felt it very burnt, like I was eating cardboard burnt. When I turn around the 2 pieces had almost black color, the food was inedible and I was raged how they tried to hide it by turning them over. I had vegetarian schnitzel in vienna and was the best, and different from this one, this schnitzel was just Soy that we use in Romania to put in water and feed it to sick people in hospital. As you can see from 1st pic I left everything in the plate and nobody even questioned why I didn't touch the horrible plate. My husband had the classic schnitzel and he also said that it is not even close to those in Vienna. We paid the bill and gave tip to water since it was not their fault but the management of the place. We left and had better food elsewhere that night. Do not recommend this place unless you want...
ย ย ย Read moreWe were given a table, without reservation, saying we had an hour. We then waited between 30-45min for two schnitzels. Food was good but not worth such a long wait with no apollogies or updates on how long it will take.
Salad came first but, apart from ketchup and mayo, there was no complementary oil, vinegar, salt, pepper or other condiments one could use for their bland salad which i tasted from once and it was enough.
My partner asked for a lemonade and they brought her a sprite, they could have just said they don't provide that instead of taking payment for something she didn't want.
We asked for complementary water but apparently they don't do that so we ended up paying for a whole bottle which we didn't drink much from.
Servers were busy, since there were many people, but i didn't feel they were very friendly. Some of them were totally avoiding eye contact so i had to get up and hoist if i wanted something, and others were in such a hurry they didn't answer other customers.
I do not recommend this place if you want to enjoy a quick dinner with...
ย ย ย Read moreThe schnitzels here are great! Huge portions, we had to share one. Salad is really good too. Had to line up for a table but only had to wait about 15 mins before one became free which was awesome. Unfortunately, the service really let this place down and the staff were just rude. It was a busy night but the servers kept going to every table except ours to check on them/ take orders from people seated after us first. They were very abrupt when we had to ask to order our food and drinks, and even though we went in to try and find someone to pay after getting sick of waiting, we were told to go back to our table to pay. The server we spoke to inside then decided to take split payments from a table of 6 before we had to ask again to pay before leaving (our payment took about 30 seconds). Really felt this was intentional as we were tourists which was extremely unwelcoming and certainly left a bad feel to the evening. Have been travelling through Europe the past few weeks and this was certainly the worst service we...
