Einstein 99 — Restaurant in Munich

We visit our family in Munich about three or four times a year. This pub was a discovery for us. We try to not miss a beer there. We haven't tasted any good yet though. The beer is good. There are different people serving at the different times. We've met at least four. All very friendly and kind, except for once that I needed to use the toilet with no consumption and the guy on shift wasn't very happy with the idea. I left a good tip but still he wasn't very understanding. I guess he didn't remember me, or maybe we hadn't coincided with him before. ... As for the atmosphere, this place is "special". It has its own "personality". It's got a dim light which makes it a bit dark but very cosy. Maybe the seat covers would need changing... Last thing we discovered was very good music at some time in the late evening. ... Hope next time we come around to tasting some of the food there. Wenn Sie auf der Suche nach Schlaflosigkeit, nächtlichem Gebrüll und dem akustischen Charme eines immerwährenden Junggesellenabschieds sind – dann ist das Einstein 99 genau der richtige Ort. Der Inhaber? Offenbar entweder schwerhörig, tiefenentspannt oder schlichtweg desinteressiert daran, was seine Gäste vor der Tür treiben – nämlich lautstark und rücksichtslos das Viertel beschallen, bis selbst der letzte Straßenhund mit den Ohren schlackert.

Anwohner? Unerwünscht. Ruhezeiten? Ein Mythos. Der Laden zieht ein ganz besonderes Publikum an: Wer sich selbst in der Mischung aus Schnapsfahne, Aufmerksamkeitsdrang und schrillem Dauergeschwafel wohlfühlt, findet hier sein Wohnzimmer. Ob Dauersäufer, Selbstdarsteller oder jene, die sich nach einem Ort sehnen, an dem man einfach mal laut sein darf, ohne dass jemand „Stopp“ sagt – willkommen im sozialen Bermuda-Dreieck.

Kurzum: Wer das Einstein 99 regelmäßig aufsucht, hat mit dem Leben wohl nicht ganz Freundschaft geschlossen – aber wenigstens einen Platz gefunden, an dem das niemanden stört.

Für alle anderen: Besser Weitergehen.

Beautiful little bar in München. The workers are quite friendly; my girlfriend and I had a small conversation over beer with the owner (I think, maybe just a server), and he told us how it used to be in München years ago vs how it's now. He told us about all the places in the world he visited. Really enjoyed our quick stop here. It was a nice place to hide...
