Falke23 Wirtshaus — Restaurant in Munich

The food was very good, though I did feel like compared to other restaurants I tried during my trip, it was overpriced for the portion sizes. However, it was delicious and we were both recommended two different wines and both were EXCELLENT. My partner and I both agreed that it was some of the best white wine we have had out at a restaurant.

The reason this gets 4 stars and not 5 is two fold though. First is I thought it was a bit overpriced. But second was our experience coming into the restaurant. There was a man outside, not sure if he was drunk or just rude, but he made us uncomfortable. He started flirting with my partner, but then also told him to get naked. The “jokes” continued and obviously made us both very uncomfortable and the impression we got was that he was doing this intentionally. Once we sat down at the restaurant we considered saying something, but then saw the guy come in and it was clear he was very good friends with one of the owners. I don’t know if other customers had the same experience as we did, but I just thought it wasn’t great that they witnessed their friend behaving inappropriately towards their guests and did /...

I visited this Tuesday evening with a friend after work. The staff and service were friendly and helpful, and i give them a 5/5

However, the price-quality relationship of the dish that I had was not good. Therefore, the 3/5. We both ordered kässespetzle. The cost of the dish is above the average price in Munich, but it did not match the price in quality. This is a highly subjective evaluation, but it had easily 3 or 4 times the amount of onion that the dish normally has, it overflowed the dish, and most of it was hard to separate. Kässespatzle is normally inexpensive, but at Falke23 costs nearly the same than a schnitzel; therefore, it is affecting my grading to a large extent because it was really one of the worst I had; my friend agreed and he is a 60 year old local.

The food is outstanding and I must admit I was also positively surprised by how reasonable the prices were, considering the quality and the fact that is Munich. We went there because it's not easy to find traditional Bavarian food with great vegetarian options (and one of my guests was vegetarian). This place would meet all dietary restrictions and leave everyone with a smile on the faces.

The wine selection is also great and the staff very friendly (and they do speak fluent English, in case this restriction may apply to you). I think this restaurant is one of those that you should visit before it gets difficult to reserve a table, because it will happen.
