We had a few dishes and were satisfied with the quality of food. Sushi is fresh and ok but something is missing taste wise. Service was friendly and approachable. The menu has far too many dishes in my opinion and that is always an indicator of the overall quality itself. We learned, once again, that either we go to dine Vietnamese or we go for Sushi.

A few topics did bother us and will not let us return, even I give JaVi 3 stars. The table we had in front of the bar is not comfortable and as it was busy, logically it was noisy right in front of us. The bar counter was full of glasses and it seemed that they were slightly understaffed today to clean up the mess. The acoustic in this Restaurant in general is not good. Short before we were leaving one of the team members delivered drinks and food with a hand truck - he came back in along our table three times. This is not acceptable, especially when you have the restaurant closed between 2.30 and 5.30 pm.

Normally I keep reviews short - in this case it was necessary to mention the...

The restaurant has a nice decoration and very cozy. Unfortunately i don't know where the good reviews come from in terms of food. We ordered shrimp tempura, salmon teriyaki and sushi. All of them were below average. The shrimp tempura is like nothing i have tasted before, its not even a proper shrimp tempura. It is green in color and tastes weird. The salmon Teriyaki comes with salad and the whole plate was covered in soya/Teriyaki sauce. It felt like i was eating a soup and not a salmon dish. Also, I’ve never seen salmon served with this kind of salad (below average lettuce pieces with some onions). It would be nice if it would be served with broccoli, carrots and potatoes instead! But the combination of this salad with salmon does not work. Regarding the sushi, it was also below average.

On the other hand, i liked my mango coconut drink. The service was okay. However the waiter did not thank us when we gave him tips, maybe he didn’t like the amount. The restaurant was too expensive compared to...

Atmosphere is great and food is moderately good for a Japanese experience in Germany. The only downside is that they could not understand the Canadian vaccine passport. They did not believe that if there was no barcode, that it could not be real. The girl who greeted us shooed me away and got a coworker to check. The coworker was still very confused but sat us at our table. She then proceeded to go tell another coworker about the situation pointing at me and making me feel very uncomfortable. I am obviously vaccinated or else I would not have been able to get into the country. It felt super unwelcoming and I don’t know if I will come back. UPDATE: the cooks do NOT wear masks while making food. I have attached the picture to get the best shot I could. The whole time we were here (1 hour) they did not put on masks.

*A Tasteful wonder in Munich* We went to Javi Restaurant in Munich yesterday, and it was such a great experience! Everything about the place was spot-on, starting with the lovely ambience. The seating was comfortable and well thought out, making it feel both cozy and stylish at the same time. The staff were super courteous and welcoming—they really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, which added so much to the experience. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and left us wanting more. They have such a great variety of cuisines, and everything felt so fresh and perfectly cooked. Honestly, this place is a must-visit. Whether it’s for the food, the vibe, or the amazing service, Javi Restaurant is highly recommended!

Munich Magazine had posted some photos of JaVi and it looked really good. We decided to go at eat there with some friends before everything got shut down from Corona. The food was excellent. I think the sushi was probably the best I have had in Munich so far. I really liked the spicy tuna roll. It had a unique and fresh flavor to it that I wasn't expecting. The ebi tempura Maki wasn't my favorite. It felt like there was way to much tempura and very little shrimp in the roll. A friend also got the shrimp dumpling (ha gao) as an appetizer and although they were physically made well they were not as good they are supposed to be. I really enjoyed the food but also have to say that it was surprisingly expensive. I would go again but would pick more carefully what I order.
