A taste of home.... Although the spanish "la" makes no sense for me, and could be renamed to "da favela", the food and the atmosphere brought me back home. We decided to try la favela in a cold winter night, after seeing the article. The location is really funky, but gives the restaurant an extra "exoticness". The staff is lovely, which is exactly what you should be expecting from a Brazilian restaurant. The food is also really taste and some of the dishes taste exactly like in Brazil. The mandioca is a 10/10, and I would go back just for it. The "calabresa" on the other hand was a let down. I know it is hard to find it here in Germany, so they had to work with that they have. But in my opinion the dish can be taken out of the menu. The salgadinhos were delicious, especially the bolinho de bacalhau (cod cake) Regarding the main dishes: we ordered picanha/alcatra and some side dishes like rice and beans, because we wanted to have the full experience. The meats were really cooked to perfection, and the sides dishes were flavourful. I honestly can't wait to taste their feijoada after eating their black beans. Prices were ok for the type of food, especially because you can't find the ingredients that easy Overall a really great experience, in which even my German friends left excited to go back again

The dishes were truly authentic and delicious, showcasing the rich flavors of Brazilian cuisine. Friendly service! The waiter was polite and knowledgeable, happily suggesting dishes for us to try.
The music and overall atmosphere were lively and happy, adding to the enjoyable dining experience. We particularly enjoyed the Porcao de Mandioca Frita but the highlight of the meal was definitely the Feijoada. It had a delightful combination of flavors that left us wanting more.
Overall, La Favela, although a little pricey, is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Brazilian...
Read moreI was positively surprised by this restaurant located inside a train wagon, surrounded by an underground-style setting, perfect for spending a sunny afternoon. The coxinha was crispy, with fresh and delicious chicken strings inside. The feijoada was excellent, though I would recommend adding a bit more rice to better balance the rich beans and meat. The service was efficient and excellent. It’s an informal spot, with seating available on a terrace. I couldn’t have made a better choice than ending the meal with the pudim, a perfect sweet...
