Restaurant II Castagno — Restaurant in Munich

Gave one star as the food was OK. Otherwise a terrible experience on our first night in Munich.

We stood at the entrance for 5 min and none of the staff came (the group behind us left which was probably a wise choice). We sat down for 10 min and the server finally came, extremely impatient and rude when I asked for his recommendation, and as I was deciding between two menu items he just left without saying anything and came back after another 10 min to finish taking our order…

After we ordered the food, someone else delivered one dish and as we were eating, our server came with two other plates, frowned when he saw that we have one dish on the table already and just took away my plate AS I WAS EATING - no apologies, nothing, as if it was our fault that they delivered the wrong order.

Having found out they accept cash only when we asked for the bill - we suggested that in the future this be told to customers when they enter the restaurant, and the server simply ignored and left. This is just not how you should treat...

Ich werde rechtlich dazu aufgefordert mein Review zu belegen. Ich war vor 4 Jahren Kunde da und soll nun, vier Jahre später, meine Kundschaft beweisen. One star as they told my wife (she was paying while I was in the restroom) that an obligatory tip has to be paid. The amount was random (not a percentage, nor a fixed round amount, but some random rounding up) and clearly not a service fee. My wife accepted to pay it as (first time in Germany) she was assuming it was normal. Looking back we both feel cheated even we would have given some tip (as we normally do). Reading the comments here it seems to me that this is a way to get some extra money...
