Nice place with good service and genuine Bulgarian cuisine. You can pay with cash or Girocard/EC-Card here (no credit card!) 💶.

Service: 4.5/5 Taste: 4.3/5 Atmosphere: 4.8/5 Price: 4/5

First of all - service, I would say it was very good, it's not 5 only because you can't pay by credit card. Also it was very nice that hostess suggested us to speak Russian once she had recognized that it's our native language. I find it cute and welcoming. 😊 Talking about dishes - we tried Bulgarian chicken soup 🐔🥣, Gyros with seafood 🥓🦑 and traditional Bulgarian fried potatoes with cheese 🧀🍟. And I would say that all of the dishes was cooked and presented just great. Soup is quite affordable, but tasty and I would say that next time I would probably pick another one. 😋 Gyros with seafood - tasty bites of meat and seafood of different sorts, only one small thing for me was that it was a bit oily , but they used thin wheat bread as basement for main dish, so I would say that it partly resolved the issue, salad 🥗 for this dish also contributed to the final taste so I would say that it worth it. 😉 Bulgarian fries with cheese wasn't in their menu by the way, but they cooked it and it was just the same as we tasted so many times on the Bulgaria seaside. 🥰🇧🇬 The atmosphere in restaurant was cozy and welcoming as well. ☺️ Price I would call quite usual for restaurant - just as expected. 🤷‍♂️ So would I consider this place in case I would look for a lunch or...

Great food, but shockingly rude service

The food was truly delicious, but the service completely ruined the experience. I had made a reservation through Google Maps for 7:30 PM and even received a valid confirmation email. Despite this, the waiter insisted that this was “not possible,” told me I had made a mistake, and pressured us to order immediately or the kitchen would close.

What was most disturbing, though, was how the waiter stood at our table the entire time, watching us and not leaving for even a second until we ordered. It felt invasive and incredibly disrespectful — not the kind of behavior you’d expect at any decent restaurant.

Also, this wasn’t my first visit. Strangely, the credit card machine only seems to work if you claim you don’t have cash. Otherwise, it magically stops working.

Great food can’t make up for such poor treatment. Hopefully, they’ll learn that good service isn’t just about speed — it’s...

I recently celebrated my birthday at this restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience on every level. The cuisine was absolutely delightful—authentic, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Each dish showcased the rich culinary traditions of Bulgaria, and everything tasted fresh and homemade.

The service was outstanding. The staff including Valentina was attentive, friendly, and made us feel special throughout the evening. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, adding thoughtful touches that made the celebration even more memorable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy, vibrant ambiance.

Finally, the location was ideal—easy to find and conveniently situated, making it accessible for all our guests.

I definitely...

An Absolute Gem in Munich – Restaurant Rila Dining at Restaurant Rila was truly an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was bursting with flavor and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. From the first bite to the last, everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. What made the experience even more special was the outstanding service. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality paired with exceptional cuisine. I wholeheartedly recommend Restaurant Rila to anyone visiting Munich. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this place is a must-visit. Five stars without hesitation!

The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice. I was there for dinner on a Saturday night and you could tell there was a lot going on. The staff is very welcoming and customer oriented, one of us asked if they could change his drink (wrong order) and they changed while cracking a joke. The music became a bit too loud at some point, which could hinder the guests during their conversations. I suppose there are not many people working in the kitchen, coz we were 12 people at the table and our dishes did not come all together. Despite that they do a really nice plating.
