Schlosscafé im Palmenhaus — Restaurant in Munich

We have just experienced a very terrible experience with the Schlosscafé im Palmenhaus.

We plan to have the wedding ceremony in this location and had the first consultant appointment in Nov.2021. When we wanted to discuss the details of the wedding in Jan. 2022, we received the information that the price for 2022 has been changed. All the conditions from 2021 will no longer be available. Our contact person asked us to send them a detailed plan of our wedding and they will based on the plan, give us an estimated Price Offer. We have also provided the detailed planing 2 days after the first discussion.

However we have been waited until End of March 2022 to get this price offer. And during the discussion of the price offer, the contact person just acted very impatiently and impolitely. When my girl friend was speaking, she even rolled her eyes.

1 week after that appointment, we received a rejection Email from the Schlosscafé im Palmenhaus. After complaining about the details, they just told us, the reason to refuse us, is the behaviour of manicuring my dead skin of my finger during the discussion.

If she feels uncomfortable about this behaviour, she can just say it directly to us. That is never a reason to refuse a customer!

We have been waiting for 3 months to have the price offer, and just because of that ridiculous reason, they rejected us. They wasted us 3 mounts, and we have to searching for a new location from beginning( most of the popular locations have already been fully booked). Some guests even booked Hotels and trains for our planned wedding date.

Till now (27.04.2022), we still have not received any apology. We feel that they are very arrogant and unprofessional.

This place is absolutely NOT recommended, you should...

It’s convenient to park car at both side of street and it’s located inside the palace’s gates. Nice and relaxing. Many people but easily get a table with seats. They have different tables (covered with table cloth) it’s for people who need waiters to serve. We couldn’t find table and told to queued if we prefer self-service. We came for special dish that advertised in front of their entrance. Surprisingly not many people order but I think the dessert consider quite good. It’s huge and there was vanilla ice cream inside the cream with cherries too. The ice cream melt quicker than I expected. Perhaps not hard enough or cold enough. Actually totally normal in Germany that usually you only get soft ice cream. However we notice cherry was from can that soaked with syrup before. I am ok with that although I prefer a fresh one. It’s good price and nice place to sit and enjoy some dessert ....

There was a queue and we were all told only self service tables were available. I asked that surely I can wait till a serviced table becomes available, which they said it was fine with them if fine with me. After five minutes I was told a table became available and I could choose from three available tables. It was clear that they want to sell but not serve. It took 20 mins for the waitress to take the order, most things on the menu were not available. The cake department (even though called Royal) was very poor. It took another 30 mins to pay the bill, I had to ask several times. I would give 0 stars if I could, for a very long time have I not been to such a horrible place. The location is great though and they could have a really good venue there, if only they cared....
