Taverna Melina — Restaurant in Munich

Very good food…but…shockingly bad racist service. The waiter did not know I was speaking German and commented on our group being in the restaurant in a les than complementary way. He gave us the bill even though we said that we did not receive all the food at the table (no correction on the total). I would not recommend as there are better places with polite staff in Munich. He left with our money and a totally undeserved tip that he basically stole.

You have probably received multiple reviews from my family, the same family that was mocked in your establishment.

We will no longer give you any further details of the evening and we will not visit your restaurant ever again. My partner and I are Munich residents and have been living here for a good few years and if asked for restaurants recommendations we will make sure we will tell all our friends to avoid your place. It is really a shame because the food was actually good.

Fellow tourists, please avoid them at all cost. The humiliation and the mean commentaries are not worth it. Munich has much more to offer.

It was my first time in this restaurant and we were a group that went for dinner. When we arrived there our table wasn't ready but we were accommodated by the bar and got ouzo shots served which was a nice detail The waiter that served our table was extremely friendly and had a smile at all times. He gave us time to pick the food from the menu and explained the menu when necessary

I ordered a Kalypso plate to share and the bifteki (minced beef patties) was very dried and burnt. The plate also had chicken souvlaki, which was a little dried but tasted good and gyros meat, served with tzaziki and onions. Also we had pimientos de padron, fried calamari and eggplant chips, which was one of the best things from all we ordered

The ambiance was nice and warm. It was very full and we got a call from the restaurant to confirm the reservation

Hands down the best meal we had in Munich. We ordered the four dip appetizer to start, which comes with four dips/spreads and pita. It was all delicious and honestly could’ve been a meal on its own. By the time our mains arrived, we couldn’t finish them but they were so delicious so we stuffed ourselves as much as we could!

I ordered the moussaka and my husband ordered a meat main. The flavors were amazing, portions were large and there honestly wasn’t a single flaw. Incredible food.

The service was also amazing. Everyone knew their role and it was clear they are a well-oiled machine. We were greeted, seated, given free bread and menus immediately and once our food arrived, the chef came to greet us and check that everything was good. Once we finished our meal they provided us with two digestive shots and a free dessert.
