We had a very disappointing experience celebrating our childâs birthday here, which we had planned carefully for around 50 guests last Saturday.
To begin with, we were told the restaurant would open at 9 AM so we could begin decorations before the guests arrived. However, when we called a couple of days prior to confirm, the person at the reception rudely informed us they would open only at 11 AM unless we paid an extra âŹ30. It was only after much back and forth and my wife asking to speak to the owner that they finally agreed to open at 9 AM as initially promised.
Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. The event was supposed to start by 11 AM, and lunch was to be served by 12 noon. Instead, the starters arrived at 1 PM in very limited quantity despite our advance order for 50 guests. We had to repeatedly ask the staff to bring more starters, leaving our guests awkwardly waiting with empty plates.
The main course was not served until 2:30 PM, and the quality was shockingly poor. The biryani rice was undercooked, the white rice and dal were missing entirely, the Malai Kofta was just wheat balls, and raita which was part of the agreed menu was never served. Even basic things like water bottles were hard to get, as the servers were rarely present.
To top it all off, we were overcharged for drinks. Only two of our guests had beer, and only three glasses were consumed, yet we were billed for seven. We had no choice but to pay, as it would have been awkward to question our guests.
This place is more expensive than many other restaurants, and we chose it only because it could accommodate our guest count. But the poor service, delayed food, and lack of professionalism made the entire event extremely disappointing. Our guests were unhappy, and what should have been a joyful celebration turned into a stressful experience. Definitly not...
Read moreWe have ordered from this restaurant dinner just a few days ago. Unfortunately the experience was quite awful- my husband suffers from a nut allergy, which we clearly indicated on the uber eats app and of course checked the allergens. After just two bites of the starter my husband got an allergic reaction. He knows himself well enough to notice it instantly so of course he stopped eating and I called the restaurant to find out what could have caused it. The initial response was great- the lady on the phone was very apologetic but assured me that they take allergies seriously and that there werenât any nuts in the meal. My husbands throat disagreed and he was violently sick for the rest of the night. The lady on the phone asked me if she could follow up the next day to find out if everything is ok- she never called. Mistakes happen and cross contamination is always possible, however restaurants should be more careful!! Also not following up, knowing that one of your customers has been physically unwell due to your food is...
Read moreWe hosted couple of function at Tikka n Talk, and it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience. The space was perfectly suited for our gathering of around 150 people â spacious, comfortable, and beautifully set up. The interiors are vibrant and welcoming, which added so much charm and warmth to the occasion.
The food was outstanding â every dish was flavorful, fresh, and thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests. From starters to desserts, everything was prepared with great care and authenticity.
What truly made the experience exceptional was the hospitality. The owner and the entire team of waiters treated us not just as customers but as family. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and support throughout the event made everything smooth and stress-free.
I would highly recommend Tikka n Talk to anyone planning a function or simply looking for a place with amazing food and heartwarming hospitality. Itâs a gem of a restaurant, and we are grateful for the memories we...
