BERGBRAND Kaffeerösterei — Restaurant in Nuremberg

Bergbrand feels different from the usual coffee I find around here, the Flat White is "easy" to drink and enjoyable but you could still fill a bit of the coffee kick in it with the nice aroma. Some might find it a little too mellow or milky if you are used to something stronger like a kopi o gao in Singapore or a Dallmayr Prodomo black coffee, which is understandable if you are looking for a strong caffeine burst in the morning. This is easy to drink, comforting and great for an afternoon drink.

The cafe is located near Hallertor and it is excellent for street-watching, seeing cyclists going to and fro while having coffee or chatting with friends. It seemed to be rather popular with regulars popping in to takeaway coffee.

The pricing is reasonable and it is also away from the buzz towards the centre of the old town which makes the atmosphere really nice...

I really, really wanted to like this place. The location is great with awesome outdoor sitting, and once in a blue moon you're able to get a decent cappuccino there. But most of the times we were there they had nothing or almost nothing to eat, and the coffee was mediocre. The last time we asked for a cappuccino, we received this one from the picture, with the milk barely steamed, so no foam at all and no latte art. It's really a shame, because the coffee beans are good (we usually buy them to make good quality cappuccino at home). We were there 4 or 5 times on different days of the week and different times of the day, and this inconsistency is really disappointing. I don't think we'll try again...

Took just a flat white to go and instead got a plastic cup that I was suppose to return the guarantee for and to receive back 1 euro..

First of all: what is then the meaning of to go cup if I am meant to return it?

Second: drinking hot beverages from plastic?! Really?

And third: when I went to return the cup, they didn’t have the cash to return…

These charges were not communicated before, that I have to pay extra for to go cup and that I need to return anything and the coffee(flat white) wasn’t even good.

My experience overall was shitty because of this confusion and extra rip off when the price marked outside for a coffee...
