I don't know if they don't like foreigners or what, but they offered us a very small table in the last corner, despite of the fact there was 3 tables free. After that they put 2 german girls in a better table beside us. We wait for 40 minutes and the food didn't arrive, but the girls beside us received their food. I asked about our order and the waiter told us that "there is a big group in the second floor". But why the German girls received their orders and were in a better place, I couldn't understand. Strange restaurant.

Since you have the audacity to answer me with such lies, I will add more details to make.it very clear. When we arrived at the restaurant as a couple, there was no one waiting for tables. There was only one restaurant employee smoking next the front door during working hours, which already shows something about the quality of the service. It was precisely this employee who took our order later, with great relutance. Let it be clear that no one ever asked us if we have a reserved table and there was no indication on the tables that they were reserved, as is costumary. So, how would the restaurant employee have guessed that we didn't have a reservation if he never asked us or consulted a list and then, immediately say there was only that tiny hole in the corner for us, that he called "table". Furthermore, as I said, that tiny space could not even be called a table, since it was nothing more than a piece of wood hanging on the wall, where two adults could barely fit without moving, much less move their arms to dine. I can't imagine what kind of customer would be happy to dine in a hole like that. You should ashamed of yourself for calling that a "table". I said before that I only accepted because we were very tired and hungry. Now let's go straight to the point, taking 40 minutes to prepare two pork steaks that are not at all sophisticated and still not being able to bring the dishes to the table, is simply ridiculous. It is so ridiculous that I walked 300 meters and ordered the same typical dishes in another small restaurant similar to yours, and I was very well served in about 15 minutes. You should ashened of yourself for claiming that you aren't not fast food, because this is a typical an old excuse for restaurants that can't meet demand. The dishes of the two girls that arrived after us did not arrive " a little faster", but in 15 minutes, while ours NEVER ARRIVED after 40 MINUTES. Or you are accusing us of leaving the dishes in front of us on the table and keave the restaurant? That would be extremely disrespectful and a lie. I have the exact idea of how badly we were treated and that's why an other employee was at our table just 5 minutes before we left the place and asked is everything is wright, realizing that everyone was already eating except us, who had been there for a while. And finally, when we got up to leave, I wanted to pay for the beer we had drunk, and the employee lamented the delay claiming there was a large group eating in the restaurant and didn't want to charge us for the beer. Now, if we were wrong why did he apologize and not charge the beer ??? Therefore, in addition to providing poor service, you have the audacity to come here and write lies, seeing as the dishes were NEVER SERVED after a 40 minutes wait. You seem to have no knowledge about what happens in your little restaurant and should not have the audacity to come here and write...

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. I TOTALLY REGRET GOING THERE. I’ve arrived at the restaurant to have dinner with my husband, who is Italian and speaks German. The waiter (flat dark brown hair) took us to a “table” underneath a cupboard (someone suffering from claustrophobic issues would have been in trouble). As soon as we started reading the menu, he tried to take it from my husband’s hands saying “take the Spanish menu”. I on the other hand, have asked, in German, for a clarification on a dish and instead of explaining the dish, he threw a Spanish menu on the table “so I could look for the dish myself”. We’ve ordered the food and while waiting for it, my husband asked the other waiter (a bald guy) if we could move to a decent table that had just been cleaned up. The bald waiter said in a rude manner that the table couldn’t be used and “he would check if was possible to change tables”, like if he was doing us a favor. The point is: if the tiny “table” was the only one available, there wouldn’t be a problem, but having a proper table to be seated and the waiters treating customers with such a rude attitude, that is unacceptable. Finally, after we’ve paid our bill the 1st waiter has asked to the other waiter if we gave them any tips. HAHAHAHAH of course, after this unforgettable customer experience we’ve should have left a HUGE tip. Attached you can find pictures from our so called “table”, and a picture of the empty table we’ve been denied to sitting in.

Note: the restaurant was just about to close when we arrived (you can see the time the photos were taken) and NO ONE ELSE would be using the decent available table, but of course the waiters hands might fallen down if they had to clean up the...

The bratwursts and beer are quite good, but skip the desert, as it is pretty poor quality (Apple strudel and the raspberry dessert). Also, we asked for tap water. When we received the bill, we were charged for water. When we asked about it, they said the water is unsafe as it is pumped from the canal, so they gave us mineral water instead, totaling €13,70. (The problem was that we had asked for tap water, and they didn’t tell us that they needed to served mineral water.) However, we accepted the charges. We wanted to ask if the tap water was safe in the rest of Nuremberg though, but this seemed to anger the employee as he began to raise his voice and ask where we were from. We repeatedly said that the charges for the water were fine, but we wanted to know, for our safety, if tap water was okay in the rest of Nuremberg to drink. He became more angry and raised his voice more, listing many American cities that charge for water in restaurants: San Francisco, New York, etc (which isn’t true, water is free in those cities) and that all of Europe charges for water (which isn’t exactly true either, it depends), but the big issue was that the employee was creating a big scene, raising his voice, and completely embarrassing us in front of the entire restaurant. We weren’t even saying anything eventually and he just kept going and going. My wife wanted to leave because she didn’t feel safe with how upset the employee was getting. Overall, the employee’s behavior was quite concerning and degrading. An apology would be...

One of our favorite things about Bavaria is the roasted pork with crackling(crispy skin). We usually order schweinshaxe or krustenbraten but on our stop here we tried the schäufele. Its a chunk or pork shoulder roasted with the skin on. It was AMAZING. Its very rare to get the meat very tender, and the skin crispy while still light and easy to chew. Usually its one of the other at best. This was exceptionally good. The crackling often becomes a bit tough or hard to cut into but this was so light, almost flaky. Ridiculously good. We had it near the start of our trip and we're still talking about it 12 meals later in Munich. We also shared a plate of obatzda cheese spread and I had a cup of fränkische Kartoffelsuppe. A potato soup with pieces of Nuremberger sausage in it. A soup like your Bavarian grandmother would make for sure. As far as the restaurant goes, I would say that the interior is a bit small but the outside is fine with a decent view if weather is good. Far more outdoor seating I think. The interior is actually very cute inside with a ton of rustic decor.

Call early and make a reservation!! They do have indoor seating, but it's very close quarters and HOT!! I don't think there is AC. You can sit outside, but I loathe cigarette smoke and it's *everywhere.* I ordered the turkey steak, roast vegetables, and baked potato. The potato was wrapped in foil so it was more of a steam potato. It was topped with creme fraiche, dill, and chives and good lord it was delicious. I'm not sure if I can eat another potato if not prepared tgis way!! The turkey wasn't cut properly so it was a tad chewy; but, it was still tasty. Very nice serving, I couldn't eat it all. My husband ate pork over spaetzel with creamy mushroom sauce. It was absolutely delicious!! Everything really came together with a lovely umami taste from the mushroom. The side salad had coleslaw with caraway seeds, wgich is my favorite addition to pep up boring coleslaw dressing. The dark beer he ordered was perfect with his meal. I would absolutely go back!
