AvantGarthe Bistrorant — Restaurant in Speyer

My recent dinner at AvantGarthe Bistrorant in Speyer was a truly enjoyable experience. From the moment I stepped in, the service was remarkably welcoming and courteous, setting a positive tone for the evening.

For my appetizer, I chose the calamari fritti, and it was simply excellent. The squid was cooked to perfection, achieving that ideal balance of tenderness inside and a satisfying crispness on the outside. The flavor was fresh and vibrant, making for a wonderful start to the meal.

Moving on to the main course, the steak was the star of the show. It was exceptionally tasty, cooked exactly as I had hoped, and seasoned expertly to bring out its natural richness. Each bite was a delight, and it was clear that high-quality ingredients were used.

At first i came in alone and felt welcommed by the 2 waiters.

I waited with amazing tasting breadslices with tomato butter and olive oil.

I had grilled squid for starter. Unfortunately it wasnt preparred too well. The outside had a little burnt flavour, and the inside was like chewing rubber.

The Main course was picanha steak with potatoes, asparagus and sauce.

The meat was absolutely amazing in taste. The amaount of potatoes and asparagus was moderate though. The dish was missing some volume and the sides was a little boring. I had to order the dish twice to feel full.

The creme brule was quite nice.

The local Wine was very good and the waiters was cosy and nice.

Ich hatte in diesem Restaurant ein wirklich sehr unerfreuliches Erlebnis am 25.12. Ich kam alleine und betrat den Laden. Zunächst begrüßte mich eine Dame aus dem Service und kam freundlich auf mich zu. Ich sagte ihr, dass ich alleine sei und fragte ob es vielleicht trotzdem einen Tisch für mich gäbe. Natürlich war mir bewusst, dass es keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist am 25.12. spontan einen Tisch zu bekommen aber fragen darf man ja bekanntlich. Daraufhin kam der Chef und begrüßte mich freundlich. Gab mir sogar die Hand. Die Bedienung nahm mir meine Jacke ab und hängte sie in die Garderobe. Ich freute mich sehr darüber und dachte mir würde nun ein Tisch zugewiesen werden. Doch plötzlich kam der Chef zurück und bat mich das Restaurant zu verlassen. Es gäbe keinen Platz für mich und er habe mich verwechselt und geglaubt ich gehöre zu einem anderen Tisch. Man könne ja nicht erwarten an Weihnachten noch einen Tisch zu bekommen. Das alles war schon sehr absurd, kann aber durchaus mal passieren. Was aber nicht passieren darf ist, dass der Chef einem das Gefühl vermittelt der Gast sei fehl am Platze in seinem Restaurant. Statt sich für die Verwechslung zu entschuldigen erdreistete sich der Herr mich an der Schulter zu fassen und mich wie einen ungebetenen Gast nach draußen zu komplimentieren. „Es sei ja schließlich Weihnachten. Da sei er zum Glück ausgebucht.“ Das war für mich das Höchstmaß an Arroganz und Unhöflichkeit. Und das, wie von dem Herrn so treffend festgestellt, an Weihnachten. Egal wie gut die Küche oder der Wein, oder der Service sein mag, diesen Laden werde ich nie wieder betreten. Ich schreibe sonst keine Reviews aber wer so mit seinen Kunden umgeht oder evtl. Unterschiede macht wer seinen Laden betritt oder sich gar zu fein für seine eigene Kundschaft ist, wird bei der Hohen Konkurrenz in Speyer langfristig nicht bestehen. Uncoole Aktion. In diesem Sinne.
