Krua Thai Bolan — Restaurant in Stuttgart

Honestly, the Thai food here has really not been good. The fried fish pieces have been hard and have had almost no taste, and the Thai milk tea has been way too sweet. We have even ordered three different ones – one original Thai milk tea with half sugar, one green milk tea with half sugar, and one green milk tea without sugar – but they have all tasted exactly the same. Really strange! When we have mentioned this to the waiter, he has simply said that they don’t even have green milk tea here. Couldn’t they have told us that when we ordered? I have really not found that to be good service, and it has made us feel kind of cheated and unrespected.

First of all, the chalkboard menu clearly listed two types of Thai milk tea — “Original Thai Milk Tea” and “Green Thai Milk Tea” — not two types of “iced tea.” We even asked the waiter the difference between these two sorts.

Secondly, when we asked the waiter whether the Thai milk tea could be made with less sugar, he said yes. That’s why we chose to have two different green milk tea （with no sugar & with half sugar) and one original milk tea (with half sugar). I have no idea why the restaurant has mistaken Thai milk tea for “Eistee”; they are completely different.

Thirdly, if the restaurant really didn’t have green milk tea, the waiter should have honestly told us when bringing the drinks, instead of taking it upon himself to serve us two other drinks without ever asking for our opinion. We only learned the truth after noticing that all three drinks tasted the same and asking the waiter about it, and we had no choice but to passively accept it.

Most definitely the best authentic Thai family owned and operated restaurant in Stuttgart, hands down. Fairly new, and hidden due to scaffolding on the building. Everyone should definitely come here and try the menu. Please be aware, they will make your food Thai spicy if you ask 🌶🌶🌶🌶!!! The best is the home made ice cream. Sadly Taro was sold out, so I will definitely be coming back again. Staff is super friendly and polite. Food is cooked/made fresh to order. I will be coming here more often now.

**update - I went here again before Easter. I gave up Meat for Lent so I had the fish and it was delicious. It made me a little nostalgic and reminded me of being at home with my parents. The scaffolding in front of the restaurant has been removed, so it is not so hidden anymore. They even added more cute decoration in front, inviting people passing by to come in. We ordered today. Food was cooked in 15 minutes. It was very tasty and really spicy. They gave us huge portions too. The food (h38, chicken with cashewnuts) and vegetarian v98(tofu with cashwenuts) were spicy but yummy. They also put lots of vegetables in both the dishes. Although the dishes were the same as the base sauce was supposed to be same, difference being one with chicken and one with tofu, both tasted bit different which was a happy surprise.. the Person was very Hospitable who gave us the food.
