I had the joy to celebrate my birthday at the restaurant FENIX whilst staying in the attached Hayat Sky Hotel. The staff did a wonderful job of creating a truly magical, romantic dining experience for myself & my husband in one of their ‘igloos’ located on the rooftop terrace bar. The decorations were so elegant and tastefully done and the service was absolutely top notch; personal, attentive with perfect speed & flow for the occasion. The restaurant itself its very modern and cozy, and the food was very delicious. We were going for two nights and both of them we had dinner there. The personal was nicer the second day , as they already knew our faces, the first day I didn't felt very welcomed. I was trying to be in contact with them days before for a special reservation for my boyfriends birthday, and they made it look as its my fault, cuz they asked me to call, but I couldn't and I was contacting thru e-mail. Das Fenix ist leider „Mehr Schein als Sein“.

Das Ambiente ist auf den ersten Blick sehr schön, bei genauerem Hinsehen erkennt man, dass hier nicht viel Wert auf Qualität gelegt wird. Das Iglu in dem wir saßen war schön eingerichtet und beleuchtet, aber schon mehrmals mit Klebeband repariert und manche Steckverbindungen bereits lose. Auf der Herren-Toilette waren die Papiertücher aus, eine Toilettenrolle sollte als Ersatz dienen.

Beim Service ist die Sache schon klarer, der bemüht sich leider nicht mal um einen professionellen Eindruck. Wir wurden begrüßt mit den Worten „Hatte ich Ihre Reservierung nicht storniert?“ – Nein, nicht storniert, aber wir haben verstanden, dass wir nicht Willkommen sind.

Kleine Weinkarte, wenig hochwertig, preislich dennoch gesalzen. Leider war der Wein den wir uns ausgesucht hatten bereits aus. Kann passieren, es wurden zwei Alternativen angeboten: Das war das einzige, was der Service an diesem Abend gut gelöst hatte.

Zu den Vorspeisen wurden 5 Scheiben Brot gereicht, bei 4 Personen. Nachbestellung des Brotes kam leider erst als wir fertig waren. Das Lachstartar bestand zur Hälfte aus Gurken, die auf der Karte nicht erwähnt sind. Wenn man Gurken mag, ist das überhaupt kein Problem, ansonsten vermiest es einem den ganzen Gang – unser Hinweis diesbezüglich wurde vollkommen ignoriert. Die Hauptspeise war sehr zurückhaltend gewürzt, wir fragten mehrmals nach Salz und Pfeffer. Das kam erst nach 10 Minuten, als wir fast fertig waren. Eine Nachspeise wurde nicht mal angeboten.

Man verspricht hier durch Ambiente, Speisekarte und Preise ein gehobenes Niveau, welches der Service absolut nicht halten kann. Das ist sehr schade, denn das Essen war bis auf kleine Handgriffe...
