The place itself charms you with a nice view upon the water. Yet the staff & their service somehow manages to make this charm disappear. The waitress her attitude towards us was horrific, undeserving of service & rather denigrating. She was not allowing us to leave when we asked her to not service us with any drinks until we decided to stay. She said we never said we wanted to wait, nor seemed to care

As the manager arrived she made rather mean remarks in german (thinking we couldn’t understand german :) ) and said we never stated her to wait. The manager seemed to not care about the waitress trying to trap us into paying something we did not order. Almost as if intended? Has to be one of the single most dehumanizing experience in a very human oriented field. I would recommend avoiding this place...

This was my first time in Konstanz, unfortunately got off to a bad start going to Hafenmeisterei for a drink. Sat down and ordered a ginger ale and an espresso, definitely pricey at nearly 10 euros for 2 drinks. I paid for the drinks, then we both went to use the toilet, a cost of 1 euro each. I didn’t realise you could be reimbursed until a lady gave me my ticket which I hadn’t picked up from the machine, my husband put his in the toilet bin as had no idea it was required. I spoke with the waiter who had served us, he would only give me 1 euro as I didn’t have my husbands ticket, i explained we didn’t know about the reimbursements his reply was “Too bad, next time”. This restaurant could have killed or seriously injured my son and the manager didn't seem to care one bit. My 2 year old son had pasta and he found a piece of glass in his food. Luckily he didn't eat it and was fine. The waiter apologised but when the manager came over he didn't seem to care one bit that he could have killed my son, he showed no compassion or explanation, he said 'so what' when we asked him about it. Disgusting behaviour for a manager who should have been apologising. Coming here has been the worst experience of my life, I was in tears all night and can't stop thinking about how much worse it could have turned...
