Lilie Garten-Cafe — Restaurant in Verwaltungsverband Raumschaft Triberg

I live in Freiburg and used to go to this place whenever I bring family and friends to Triberg because the place is just by the river and the restaurant is a beautiful old building. Today I went with a couple, 88y and 90y old, who eat few and like to share whatever they drink or eat. I asked for a juice for them and an extra glass, and they told me the juice was already in a glass, I said anyway another glass, so they brought another glass of juice instead on an extra glass. I thought it was maybe a misunderstanding. When their food came, I asked for an extra dish and instead of a normal dish, they brought them a small dessert/ breakfast dish, clearly showing them, dishes weren't expected to be shared. All i can say is, if they aren't able to respect the wishes of an old customer couple and make them feel welcome, then I'll never bring anyone in the future, nor recommend the place...

We visited the restaurant on a Sunday after our expedition to the waterfall. It is the first restaurant after the waterfall exit. Exhausted and hungry we took a seat there. The food was not something extraordinary or luxurious for the price tag. Portions were OK for someone who eats a late lunch. As for our service, sloppy and on a hurry to serve, so that you will be gone as soon as possible so that the next one comes. The waiter was somehow passive aggressive and trying to be professional at the same time, speaking a mix of German and English although we speak German. At the end, we wanted to pay, he actually wanted a service fee for his meteocre service. Unfortunately, this behaviour that bothered not only us but also our neibouring tables. So I don't suggest the spot due to its service, the food...

I am visiting from the US with my oldest child, sister and nephew. My sister and I met up with a friend this morning. The waitress noticed us peeking in while they were getting ready and welcomed us on in. My German is not the best, but we got through. We got to met the "Boss" who I believe is the owner. The Boss and waitress with both lovely and kind. We had an amazing breakfast and brought our kids back tonight. The best Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte I have had in a restaurant. (I get the non-alcohol one). We enjoyed it so much we came back tonight with our kids. I got the kasse spaetzle and we all indulged in a multitude of desserts.
