We stopped because this place has the highest rating for a restaurant open before 5PM and after normal lunch time. The staff was very friendly and immediately made us comfortable upon arriving. They catered to the children by providing their own table mat and toys that are difficult to destroy and not noisy. The children's menu includes drink, main dish, ice cream, and a candy. The portions are large enough for most 10-12 year old children to be full. The adult menu is in German, but the servers professionally explain the menu in English if necessary. Really lovely spot overlooking a pond with ducks. We originally just popped in to try some blackforest gateaux but when the kind lady mentioned pumpkin soup and deer ragu we decided to order that too.

The soup was delicious, perfect consistency and flavour seasoned with pumpkin seeds. The ragu was of great portion with fresh pasta, pear and cranberry.

The kirchtorte itself was massive in size so we shared one. The sponge itself was a little dry but the cherries in it were gorgeous.

Not a FAMILY FRIENDLY RESTAURANT. I coordinated with them about family of 7 and 2 of them are newborns and they said NO Problem. We went to the waterfall and came back and unpacked 5 kids just to get REJECTED at the door. 1930 and 5 hungry kids and NOW trying to find another so called family RESTAURANT.
