Decided to go here based on people's reviews and the reviews were very accurate. The place itself sits behind a busy street away from all of the tourist traffic and it seems that only locals (or people that base their dining experiences partly on reading reviews) were dining that night. i will say that we were a little reluctant when we first arrived, because it doesn't give you the greatest feeling when upon first sight, but we decided to stay and give it a shot. Our waiter (Osvaldo) the curly haired guy from Puebla was amazing. He was funny, attentive, and really knew his menu. The food was absolutely delicious and we ordered just about everything (except the Tortilla and the Burger (not sure how the burger fits in the menu)). The sardines were by far my favorite, we ended up ordering a couple extra dishes because I've only had them this good on the coast. The chorizo was my second favorite followed by the Gambas. And the list would just keep going. It was a busy Saturday night and the staff was quite busy, so we had to wait a little to get our third round of drinks, but they were ALWAYS super friendly. The other nice thing about it is that it is not a tourist trap like the other places closer to the bridge. The price is what you would expect for a tapas place (which I would say that the portions are on the larger size compared to other establishments). I highly recommend this restaurant and will be a go to anytime we are...
Read moreI really enjoyed the food and drinks at this restaurant. The salted peppers were amazing, as were the patatas bravas and manchego platter. The issue was that the member of staff who served us seemed to not take my dietary requirement seriously. I asked her very politely to explain my options with gluten and she told me that everything was on the menu, but there was no information about this on the menu. So I asked her again to talk me through my options and she seemed to almost be laughing at me and really didn't know or didn't want to help. Later when I asked for another glass of wine she was again quite rude in her manner and made me feel that I was being silly or strange for asking. Other staff were really nice and in general we had a lovely meal but I wasn't impressed at all with her and her attitude and wouldn't eat here again for...
Read moreNo idea why this is rated so high. I was here tonight and ordered six tapas...olives, broccoli, mushroom s, shrimp, smoked meat, and what should have been calamari but either I spoke wrong or the waitress copied the order down wrong resulting in potatoes. Sadly, the potatoes were the best. That's saying something. The portions were so miniscule and nondescript that we ordered the meat plate to finish the meal. The rump steak was decent. The ribs were barely passable. Sadly, the potatoes stole the show again. Do yourself a favor. Go to Barcelona for tapas. On the plus side, the wait staff was very pleasant, yet only two were working the entire restaurant on a Saturday night. It was overwhelming for...
