Good: The horchata was quite ok, the servers were attentive and nice.
Bad: We waited a little over an hour for our food and it was seriously disappointing. My partner and I both ordered chilaquiles, he the vegan version and mine with meat (chilaquiles de res).
Chilaquiles are a very popular and simple dish in Mexico: totopos (fried tortillas) with tomatoe sauce (chilaquiles rojos) or tomatillo sauce (chilaquiles verdes), usually meat (chicken or beef, or in the morning with fried eggs), a bit of sour cream, some onion and sometimes white cheese. As a Mexican from Mexico City, I‘ve eaten them countless times, so I was expecting something similar to the ones I know.
What we got was, to put it simple: totopos/nachos with some meat (in the case of the „vegan“ ones, some vegetables), smashed avocado, chilis, onion, pomegranate seeds and cream. The tomatoe -or tomatillo- sauce, was nowhere to be found in either of our plates. And the sauce with the fried tortillas is the foundation of the whole dish, so this was really disappointing.
If we wanted to eat nachos, we would have ordered nachos.
The supposedly „vegan“ version (which again were extremely dry and had 0 sauce), had cheese and cream that was certainly not vegan, it was the same as mine. To wait an hour for what we got, was almost insulting, but I can understand that maybe the kitchen was extremely busy/understaffed at the moment.
As a bar to drink some cocktails it might be a good choice. As a supposedly „authentic“ restaurant, they definitely don’t know how to make one of the most basic and simple dishes of Mexican cuisine. As we say in Mexico „esto fue: debut...
Read moreWe ordered 3 Fajitas, 2 with chicken 1 with beef, they came with 3 sets of different sauces for each of us, we don’t quite understand why. The food tastes very plain, seriously under seasoned, you would expect Mexican food with strong spices normally, but this is totally the opposite. Mainly bell pepper inside, with 6-7 pieces of meat, my beef tastes like nothing and is red in the middle, everything tastes a bit raw and without flavor. I couldn’t eat much coz it’s so bad, in the end I still feel hungry. The wraps are very small and has a weird taste. Very pricey, the beef Fajitas is €24, the quality does not match the price.
All four of us are very disappointed with the food, the waiter didn’t get what we wanted without having to show him on the menu, seems very new. Music was loud, kitchen door was open all the time, our table is next to it, our clothes smell like the smoke afterwards, then in the end, you have to stand up go the counter to be able to pay, only thing good was the interior deco. We don’t know why the place has 4.8 rating. We will definitely not visit again and I’ll tell my circle to...
Read moreI’m originally from Mexico & decided to give this place a try, due to the multiple positive reviews.
The horchata was not sweet. It tasted like we were drinking a glass of milk with a dash of cinnamon.
My husband received the Shrimp fajitas, he told me his meal was very bland. Although it looked great, the salsa ordered with his meal was necessary for the food to taste like anything.
The Chilaquiles with chicken/ tinga de pollo was more like nachos. Because there was no salsa over top of the tortilla chips.
The atmosphere was very nice & clean. We arrived before their usual busy rush. Maybe they were understaffed due to the wait time for our drinks, orders, & even plates to arrive to our table. Unfortunately we will not be returning back to this...
