Off the beaten path, good food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Ended up at “Sombrero Latino” by accident, after spending the day walking the Wiesbaden Altstadt tourist area. Met some folks and over drinks the conversation got into the “best” burrito in all of Germany. Next thing I know, we have a bet and high tailed it to Sombrero Latino. Sombrero Latino is a (new owners) family owned and run Latin restaurant that is off the tourist strip. Their menu is decent with a variety of Latin dishes and a small offering of vegan/vegetarian dishes. In addition to Latin food, they have beers and wines from Central and South America (imported), craft beers (German), and cocktails. I was impressed as I watched them make their cocktail mixes fresh (no store bought). Their food menu is light with your typical Latin offerings, tacos, burritos, empanadas, etc. Everything is made fresh and to order, which I liked. (I’ll upload pictures of two sides of their menu). Aside from the food, what makes this place a “repeat” place is that it I,s 2 blocks (US block) off the start of the tourist area and 2 blocks from the main bahnhof (train station). No rush or pressure to order, family atmosphere (kids, pets, friends, dates, ect). While it appears to be small they have a larger area in the back. There are a couple of outside tables that sit right below the open windows with bar service. The service has (been there twice) always been good, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is fresh. They take cash/credit (paid in euros) not sure about dollars.

They have background music and last week they had a band that was pretty good. Apparently there is a large Hispanic/Latin community in the area. NOTE: I have only been there evenings, but looking forward to their...

Overall amazing place to taste Latino food from all over the place. We had chilenian, mexican, argentinian, peruvian and more treats.

Service Super nice people. You could have talk with them and they make things possible for you. The serving times were decent and overall good atmosphere.

Food We had tacos, patacones and empanadas as entry. Some could have had some more salt/spices others were on point. Mixed review on that, but overall recommendations. We had burgers, garden mix dish, bistek as main dishes. The burgers had good seasoning and fresh vegetables. The patties were a bit to done and because of that dry and "hard". We had. potato chips with that, and they were thin and crunchy but partly burned which you could taste thru. Not my favorite but taste combination was enjoyable. The garden mix dish was big with a lot of different vegetables and carbs. Really good for tasting different things and overall good dish. The bistek a lo pobre was on a gigantic bed of French fries . I think it's a bit to mich since you will never make it till the fries are mushy. The meat was cooked on point and really soft and tasty.

Drinks Cool and interesting variations of known cocktails like the "Mezcal Old fashioned" or "Old cuban". Good mix, good taste, good size. We ordered fernet cola, which was not on the menu but the bar was nice enough to make it for us. We had a good talk with them on how are the ratios and so on. In the end the owner offered us round of alcohol of a Latin country of our choice. Good talk about the necessity of bringing it all together to...

I was recommended this hole-in-the-wall gem by a friend, and i am so surprised by how amazing this restaurant is! You would never guess that such a great restaurant is on the quiet street that it’s on, which makes for a peaceful meal if you sit outside. When you walk up, there is a window with all kinds of drinks, and the owner was waiting right there like i stumbled in to a mirage in the middle of the desert. Their kitchen uses fresh, delicious ingredients to create their Chilean dishes, and as a chef myself, i was very impressed. It is impossible to find authentic Latino food in this area- i wish i had known about this place sooner! I can’t recommend this place enough! Each dish is made with intention and has a back story, which the amazing and attentive owner is too happy to share. Their is true pride in his heritage and the amazing food he wants to share with his community. My new favorite...

Seemed like it was a quite popular place as to when we arrived it was quite busy. The staff was super nice, the cocktails were delicious (thank god they actually use cachaça in the caipirinhas), but the food was just ok. I’m always on the look out for a good street taco but these were almost subpar. The tortillas were great but I almost don’t know how to describe the overall taco. And at 3,50€ a taco that seems great and you want to try one of each until you realize you’ve spent 30€ on something just ok. My partner got the medium size nachos (not the best to photograph) but said that it was a decent portion and that it was nice since the toppings were more than chips. I would definitely come back for drinks and maybe the food as a snacks but not for a meal here.
