Café Wunschlos glücklich — Restaurant in Würzburg

I made a booking online so we could get a coffee and some lunch before checking into our hotel nearby.

We stood out the front waiting for over 15mins waiting to be seated. We watch two staff {off duty} arrive and clear the only free table outside and then they sat there drinking coffee. Finally I went inside to get the attention of one of the staff, again I stood around for over 5 more mins waiting and was finally then asked what I wanted.

Then we were then sat inside in the back of the inside section which is all families and screaming kids because the only table that would be free outside is taken by staff!

Then we had to wait over 10 more mins for someone to come and take an order. To be clear, it was not very busy and there were plenty of staff. We then waited for over 15mins for our coffee to finally arrive.

I don't care if this place is booked out every weekend for weeks in advance, the service...

Awesome waffles but not worth 1 hour waiting.

We came in hungry, were ready to order food. The lady, who came to us, told us to order drinks first. We ordered two teas and waited to order breakfast. She basically ignored us for an hour. I came to the bar twice asking to order. The answer was “our colleague will come to you”. Once the order was taken the food came fast and was good, no complaints here. However, the lady that could not take our order for an hour did not even say she is sorry or explain that they were busy. She was working with other tables literally ignoring us, while passing by.

Reall disappointing. I do not recommend this place, if you are...

The place serves great, well priced quality food. But the rest is Helter skelter. You basically MUST reserve on the weekend, and Friday, before 13h. The service is slow, the servers-baristas-workers avoid you like the plague if you try to ask them questions. They take a long time to take your order, and to bring you the food. And, paying....they don't take credit cards, nor foreign (non German) debit cards. We tried w 2 cards from the USA and one from Spain, no luck.

The chairs are hard and stiff on the beautiful balcony but we did manage to get some sun.

Overall: great food and everything else...
