Frankie's Foods and Rooms — Restaurant in Accra

Stayed here for one night at end of visit to Ghana, it is in a good location, our rooms looked out onto the main street and we could see the sea in the distance, no noise in the room from the heavy traffic on the road outside. Big windows with blinds, we had two twin bedded rooms which were clean and had everything you needed, tv, tea and coffee facilities, beds were clean and comfortable and the room was well furnished, air con and the bathroom was well equipped with a shower and toiletries and towels, some of the other rooms on our floor were being painted and redecorated. The staff were very nice and helpful, we used the restaurant for dinner which was good, a good selection of food from various parts of the world on the menu, staff were efficient and pleasant, we had breakfast which was included in the price, you collect a voucher from reception and we had the no 1 set breakfast which was eggs anyway, toast and jam tea and coffee and juice it was very good - we had the scrambled eggs. We also used the ice cream parlour in the afternoon and the restaurant for a snack before we left. We used the hotel's vehicle to transport us to the airport and this was reasonable as there were four of us with six cases and we would have needed two taxi's, we also paid to use one of the rooms during the day until it was time to leave for our overnight flight and this was well worth doing so we could change and have a shower - would certainly use this hotel again - prob a bit similar to a premier...

Frankie's, situated in Osu on the bustling Oxford Street, evokes nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the 90s. Visiting there to relive those childhood memories is certainly worthwhile. I particularly enjoy their pies, especially the fish and chicken pie available at their roadside stand at Osu.

Recently, they have expanded with mini-stands at various locations in Accra, primarily selling snacks.

1)Customer Service: (Could Do Better) The staff at the Osu location are friendly, but they tend not to engage customers bedore/after a purchase. For instance, if you are unsure about which ice cream flavor to select, they won’t offer any recommendations or assistance. This lack of engagement feels somewhat unwelcoming. However, the staff at their pie stand downstairs are always friendly and do an excellent job!

2)Food: As previously mentioned, I only visit Frankies for their ice cream and pies. Honestly, I don’t find anything particularly exceptional or unique about their ice cream flavors. Nowadays, you can find similar offerings at any ice cream shop.

3)Bitter Experience: Pick-Up Station/Snack Bar (American House) After making a purchase at their mini-stand on American House Lane, I encountered an unfriendly staff member. When I inquired, "Which of the pies would you recommend?" she simply replied that they were all nice, without even a smile. It felt as if I was bothering her by trying to make a purchase. My visit to Frankie's hotel and restaurant was on purpose,I have been there over and again but this time around I went there not for the ice cream or food but for their cheese cake. Frankie's has been in existence since the 90's and they were know for their delicious ice cream and the wide varieties of food. Here you can find a wide varieties of ice cream and different types of bakeries,from pastries to cakes and croissants. Different varieties of continental dishes and meals are served as well and it can be delivered to you wherever you. It is of no doubt that Frankie's hotel and restaurant is one of the best at OSU oxford street with a nice and cozy environment that can accommodate over 100 people at a goal. They have a lovely ambiance with an out door space too that you can sit and observe passersby and enjoy the activities at OSU oxford street as you enjoy your ice cream. It is also a good place for friends meet ups and date as well There is a wheel chair accessible entrance and wheel chair spaces available too.
