Jerry's Pub — Restaurant in Accra

This pub is truly a gem—small, simple, and peaceful, yet full of charm. It sits conveniently right off the main road, making it easy to find, but once you step inside, you’re greeted with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that feels almost like home. It’s the kind of place where everyone really does know your name, and that personal touch is what makes it stand out from anywhere else.

Two people who make the experience unforgettable are Gerry, the owner, and Gina, our favorite bar mate. Their warmth and friendliness are unmatched. What impressed us most is that after not visiting for six years, they still remembered us as if no time had passed at all. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it speaks volumes about the character of this place and the people who run it.

Of course, the pub isn’t the only attraction. The surrounding side vendors add even more flavor to the experience. The shawarma stand quickly became a favorite—the food was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. We also loved the sausage vendor, who serves generous, flavorful portions that perfectly complement a night out at the pub.

Altogether, this spot has everything you need for a memorable evening: good drinks, great people, tasty food, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger. An excellent place to see 'real Accra nightlife' (outside Osu and the like) - a makeshift bar on the road and a very good DJ; also good if you eg stay at the nearby Mensvic Hotel (as I did) and you need a bit of a change from the rather sterile hotel atmosphere.
