Korea House Ninano - Osu — Restaurant in Accra

I don’t even know where to start. This is gonna be long but let me try and summarise as best as I can.

FOOD: First of all very pricey for what you get and the taste is very average, if not below. My family and I went for the Friday night buffet and Jazz because it was my husband’s birthday. My husband has travelled to South Korea and has never stopped talking about how amazing their food is. We visited a Korean restaurant a while back in London which was absolutely AMAZING. So of course, we had high expectations for this Ninano place. And I can categorically say that this is by far THE WORST “buffet” experience we’ve had. The options were extremely limited. For context it’s basically like a meal that has been separated. It was awful. Anyway… when we got there, my husband went to get some food and came back looking disappointed and the food on his plate looked very disappointing, so I knew it was about to be a crazy experience. I went to get my food and they had ran out of food ( this is supposed to be a “buffet”) I mean how do you run out of food?? I literally had to scrape what was left which was really small and didn’t even fill half of the plate. Anyway I asked one of the waiters (who was very unprofessional) how long it would take for them to bring more food and she said 10-15 mins. I was confused but I thought it’s only 15 mins max so I’ll wait. I sat there for A WHOLE HOUR and there was still no food at the buffet station. I was extremely angry!! I asked to speak to the manager and I was told he’s not there (typical) so I lost my cool because everything was just terrible.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: let’s not even go there! The absolute worst! I spoke to a supposed “deputy manager” who tried to tell me I have to basically pay for two heads for the buffet when I was waiting for an hour for food that never came? HOW?! I don’t usually do this but I kicked up a fuss and questioned a lot that I barely got answer to. After a lot of back and forth eventually she apologised and said we should only pay for one person… long story short, sadly it ruined my husband’s birthday…

The only thing that was nice was the lady singing. She had a nice voice. But that was about it. Everything else was awful.

Been here 3 times. The first was for my graduation celebration in 2023. They curated a menu for my group/party and it was PERFECT because we got to choose what we wanted for different courses including japchae, jajjangmyeon, etc! It was quite affordable too. They made the experience absolutely worth it. I went again in 2024 with my bestie and we sat outdoor. We had jajjangmyeon (not sure of spelling) and another dish I don’t remember and it was lovely. Went again 3 weeks ago with the same friend on a Friday night which is when they have a buffet and karaoke night! The energy was perfect. We sang a few songs and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Lovely space , not over the top decorations. Now about the food , It was okay, it was nice but not over the top nice. They didn’t have a lot of things available to order from , even though it was on the menu. Personally, I think they need a staff training on how the wait stuff should treat people. The lady that attended to me was point blank rude , even used her left hand which is culturally inappropriate for Africans. My date had to intervene and correct her .
