Soul Restaurant and Bar East Legon — Restaurant in Accra

This spot is cute, especially the interior...the outside could definitely use some work. Looks like part of the building is still being built, so felt like the ambiance was contradicting.

Once we arrived, one of the workers opened us and we were able to pick our seats, and were given menus. At some point, I was wondering when the servers would approach us to offer drinks or appetizers. Had to literally signal after a while of waiting. My friend and I got our meal within a fair amount of time but our other friends waited so long and mistakes were made. Mind you, the place was virtually empty, so I'm not sure why their meal took so long.

I ordered the beef fried rice and it was delicious!👌🏾 They gave me a lot too and the beef was tender. I couldn't finish so I asked to package the rest. Can you believe when the bill came, they charged me 10 cedis for the packaged meal?! Never experienced that at any restaurant, ever! We asked about it when we saw it on the bill and the server said he spoke up about this before but to no avail. Packaging is an investment owners make, but you get it back through meal prices etc. That was weird to me. Please make customers aware of this before you agree to package their meal! Or just remove that fee. Again, never seen this before! 🤨

Lastly, the music played was a vibe at first. A lot of throwback RnB, but then some more songs with profanity were played back to back shortly after. Was a bit much. Definitely didn't want my videos having that type of music in the background.

Overall, this place was nice and food was delish, but there's certainly more room for improvement! I'd say it's a nice place to take a date (not first date) and friends....

The best Angwoma I've ever had! I had the awgwoma w pawns, and it was very delicious and a lot. Being it's my first time, I haven't tired anything else on the menu so I can't say how great everything is but the Angwoma is a go to for me, I really enjoyed it, I was attended to my a very young, polite lady I wish I got her name (you were great) i appreciate her. My only shock was i asked for a take-out just in case I couldn't finish the food, but I ended up finishing it, and what was left wasn't worth me taking. As I got the bill I saw a 10cedis charge for the bags, I ask the lady and she said, as I asked for it they punched it in and can't take it out or she will have to pay. I didn't feel good about that, I dont mind paying, but it's the fact they put it in and can't take it out even tho it was never touched. I called for the manager (a very nice man, by the way) he came and had it sorted. I advise the waitress to tell the customers there is a charge for the bags and let them decide. Hands down, the best service I've received. I will definitely put this place on my favorite. Thank you, soul...

Food 7/10 Service 7/10 Wait Time : 1hr + Large seating area. Both indoor and outdoor.

Details: I ordered the mini seafood platter which comes with one side. The platter was good. I really enjoyed the octopus and the portion size had me thinking it was the large seafood platter all along. There wasn’t a lot of variety with the platter. It was mainly octopus, prawns and fish but it was very filling. I also opted for a side of jollof which was pretty average.

The bartender recommended a pina colada and his “rattail” recipe. The pina colada was a little underwhelming ( I hope this is not because I am holding them to higher standards since pina coladas are my to go cocktail option) however the rattail was a solid 8/10.

The service staff were attentive and helpful however my food took too long to get ready. I understand that it is not a fast food restaurant but an hour and thirty minutes is just too long especially since I asked for what was available before ordering.
