My 6 friends and I’s visit to Yaya Parisienne in Labone was a mix of highs and lows, ultimately tilting toward disappointment. While the lively music contributed to a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere, the overall experience was overshadowed by significant service delays and inconsistencies.
We arrived hopeful and placed our orders at 8 PM. However, we had an incredible wait time of an hour and 30 minutes before the first dishes started arriving. Despite repeated complaints, the food service remained unacceptably slow. When the meals finally arrived, many dishes were served cold, except for the Carbonara and Chicken, which were the only meals served hot, further dampening our spirits.
Dish Details: Exotic Fried Rice and Alloco: This was good bur disappointingly small portion for the price. Chicken Yassa with White Rice and Alloco: This was good but served cold thus could not be fully enjoyed. Pork and couscous: This was initially served without couscous; couscous arrived later. Attieke and Chicken Wings: This was good but quite basic. Charcoal Grilled Chicken and Fries: Fried chicken was mistakenly served instead.
To make matters worse, other guests who arrived after us were served before we were. This lack of prioritization added to our frustration.
Toward the end of the evening, Management apologized profusely for the lapses in service and offered a 10% discount on the bill. We appreciated this gesture, but it did not take away our overall experience.
In summary, while Yaya Parisienne boasts a great atmosphere with its lively music, the severe delays, inconsistent service, and cold food made for a disappointing outing. Improvements in efficiency and attention to detail are crucial for a better...
Read moreI had high expectations for YAYA, especially for a Valentine’s Day dinner, but unfortunately, the experience was a huge letdown.
We arrived at 8:45 PM, but our drinks didn’t arrive until 9:20 PM, starters came at 10:00 PM, and mains finally showed up at 10:35 PM—by then, the wait had drained any excitement from the evening. The restaurant seemed severely short-staffed, with one person juggling multiple tables. Service was so slow and inattentive that getting the waiter’s attention felt impossible, and some diners around where I was seated simply gave up and walked out.
When the food finally arrived, the starters were barely warm, and the portion sizes were disappointing—GHC 110 for four tiny pieces of chicken? The only warm thing about the meal was the price. To make things worse, the music from the live band was so loud that we could barely hear the waiter, and vice versa, making the entire dining experience frustrating.
For a Valentine’s Day dinner, this was a complete disappointment. And after all that, I can’t help but wonder—what exactly is the 10% service charge for? With poor service, long wait times, and underwhelming food, YAYA seriously needs to improve. At this rate, it’s just not...
Read moreVery lovely space. Decor is pretty. Different ‘stations’ have different decor. There’s indoor and outdoor dining areas. The food was okay. I got the beef bourguignon with a side of fries. The fries were perfect. The beef was tender and easy to chew which I loved but overall it was just okay. Didn’t wow me. However, I got really good reviews from some people and so I’m looking to try other things on the menu next time. Good prices as well.
I’ve been here twice since the first (above) review and I enjoyed myself. I stuck to my fish and it was great. I got grilled salmon/grouper and acheke (my very first time trying it) with grilled fish (tilapia I believe). Loved everything. Also tried their mac n cheese. Loved it. Drinks were great....
