Yoofin — Restaurant in Accra

Note: This review might be one off Yoofin was recommended by a friend since my ramen place in Dzorwulu was closed. I orders the spicy chicken ramen, the Gyoza and the Assorted fried rice.

I split the rice and dumplings across two others ( husband and MIL) and had the ramen for myself. The Ramen tasted horrible. On my ignorance I thought it was a cultural taste not tuned to the Ghanaian pallete. But I had had delicious ramen multiple times. (P.S I had never eaten ramen that had lemons sliced into it)

I'm currently in the hospital suffering food poisoning. That was the only meal I ate separately. I have been throwing up for 2 days since the order on Friday. My experience was horrible and I skimmed that the team take the necessary precautions to check the quality of the meal, meat.

The fried rice was more oily and had chopped chicken and sausages.

I have been to Yoofin 2x - pre and post opening.

Interior: 5/5 The place is small, cute and well designed. Good for both lunch and evening visits.

Customer service: 5/5 On both occasions I’ve been there, the staff was friendly, attentive and helpful.

Price Point: ₵₵₵₵ I considered the to be more expensive post-opening. The Karaage sizes seem to have reduced.

Taste: 3/5 I have tried the Karaage Fried Rice, Plain Rice and the Spicy Chicken Sauce. Preferred the pre-opening Karaage to post.

Overall: 3/5 Fairly new so I’m sure some things will be revisited as time goes on. I feel the sauces should come with rice included and the prices of the meals should decrease with the current...

Did not expect to find a Japanese style chop bar in Accra, but now that I've tried Yoofin I don't know how I'll live without one! The stewed eggplant, salmon roll, gyoza were all delicious and authentic. The veggies in sauce and spicy chicken ramen were tasty too, with a bit more of a fusion twist. The lemon sour was delicious. The service was attentive, kind and speedy. The rooftop area is a lovely casual-cosy space. My only feedback points were that the soundtrack could be brought up to date and some of the freestanding tall tables downstairs could be made more stable.
