If you're looking for hearty street food, this is the place for you. It's not an artisan Gyros place, theres no gimmicks or extra "wow", it's just wholesome, family-run place serving up delicious home-cooking one pita wrapped bundle at a time.
Before coming I didn't look a the reviews before dining here, just walked past and the smell dragged me in, and I'm glad now, after reading the reviews here; I couldn't have had more opposite an experience.
We had a lovely conversation with the blonde lady (owner?), We ordered some drinks and two portions. They were huge. Silly big. I still finished mine, but it was very much beyond the point of eating because I'm hungry; it was eating because this is delicious but maybe i should stop because my stomach might pop.
The plate itself was about 50% meat, 25% fries, and the rest spread between a small amount of salad, pita bread, and tzatziki. I can understand people not being into that, and wanting a more balanced meal, but it hit the spot so well for me, and was exactly what i expected.
The shaved chicken gyros was seasoned so well, it was so soft and juicy, with plenty of extra-fried bits for a good texture change.
Fries were fine, nothing as bad as other reviews say, but nothing special.
Salad ingredients were fresh, tasty, fine.
Overall was one of the best meals i had...
Read moreI cannot praise this restaurant enough. We have had nothing but incredible service! Kostas took our orders the first night and immediately made us feel welcomed.
Traveling as a group of 6, we may have been very chaotic - he as well as the rest of the staff took great care of us, served us delicious food with a smile, and the care and personality in which they offered was above and beyond.
We ended up each coming back for lunches and then again dinner the following night just for Kostas! They again went above and beyond, explaining the menu in great detail, serving huge portions of good food quickly, and in good company!
Thank you so much for dealing with us loud tourists, for the local recommendations, and the incredible kindness. We’d come back to Greece...
Read moreWhen we arrived to Alonissos, we were looking for something quick to eat before making the most of the day and heading to the beach. We ordered the chicken megabowls and couldn't believe how good they were! They food is so full of flavour and the prices are decent. We ended up getting gyros to take away for dinner from here that night and we had dinner here following evening as well. Mega bowls again. 😋. I asked for mine without tomato and without tzatziki (normally they come with tomato and tzatziki aswell, but I'm a bit of a fussy eater, so the photo shows mine which is more plain.)...
