Firstly from the outside this place don't look too bad, it's more the fact some of the staff working here looking either a combination of bored to death or miserable, especially the black haired middle aged lady who is rude and that likes to vape in the restaurant, the most miserable waitress I have ever encountered in any country my entire life.
The young men working here seem to be able to provide good service, and there's an old man working here he is friendly too, just a shame about the witcold black haired lady, she needs to stay behind the scenes, in the kitchen or office maybe away from customers.
The next is the music, it plays until 1am or 2am so if you are staying at the nearest hotel which is lorenzo hotel you can hear the music from most rooms, I expected them to turn it off or set the volume very low after midnight, but they clearly don't seem to have any consideration for people nearby that may want to sleep and can't because the music is going on until 2am in the morning, unacceptable.
With that I can only give this place 2 stars, just for the fact the steak I ordered here one day was nice and juicy, I ordered it medium rare though but it was cooked more like medium well done, still tasty but yes, it is worth going here for the food only, but it would be better if you didn't support this restaurant so that guests staying in nearby hotels can rest easy, if I wanted to sleep with music in the background I would have gone to Ibiza or where the cool kids go these days.
Hopefully they learn to have some consideration for others...
Read moreI ordered the traditional gyros (3€) and the waitress (lady with American accent) said it had finished so I asked if they did the gyros plate (7.50€) thinking the traditional gyros may have been a lunchtime item. She rudely repeated herself louder so I just asked for the chicken souvlaki (chicken skewers). There was also on the menu battered chicken breast in white wine sauce with chips. When the food came the chicken was not battered, so we asked why and the same lady argued "this is how we do it here" then just walked off. The chips were undercooked and the chicken souvlaki came not on a stick and had chewy stringy bits that I had to pull out. I think that the white wine sauce was nice and the wine was okay and the Greek dancers were very good, and friendly along with the other waiters/ waitresses who were lovely. Other people seemed to have nice dining experiences here but unfortunately I think the customer service from the one waitress caused our experience to be poor. description of food on menu is...
Read moreSo this place is all about the service! The staff are simply brilliant, bubbly and truly hospitable. The tavern is divided into two main areas; a restaurant with a great menu and a bar area. This is the kind of place where everyone is welcome and if you are traveling on your own, it won't take long before you're engaged in conversation with either the owner, the staff or other holiday makers. Entertainment nights are fantastic and include live singers, local musicians and bands. Sitting with a pint or two after eating a very sizeable, deliciously cooked meal whilst watching the entertainment makes for a perfect evening. Also, for the football fans, 3 large screens adorn the walls so you don't have to miss a game. Be sure to check out the information of upcoming events on the boards just outside this tavern. Nicos, the owner along with the other staff will not disappoint!
Would I come here again.........you bet, most definitely! A very friendly bar and restaurant with a great atmosphere, why...
