AVOID - WORST RESTAURANT IN LASSI. Just got home From il gabbiano, I ordered a T bone steak, asked for medium rare, the steaks came and was huge however parts were rare, and most of it was extremely well done. I was shouted at by the chef and waiter with them insisting that a grey/brown steak is not well done but rare, I am not blind ! After telling the waiter this and countless arguing , they removed the steak from the bill. I was left starving and then was asked if they could offer anything else. They brought me frozen, hard chewy calamari that I wouldn’t even feed to the dog. This then prompted more abuse from the waiter that were problematic. After waiting 1hr for our food initially, I then only received my second meal 1hr 25 mins later. I told the waiter that if he did not believe me he should try one of my Calamari. He just walked away. While I was eating my salad he put his DIRTY FINGERS IN MY FOOD WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and took a calamari (they were on top of my chips)I was definitely not going to eat anything after this. We have not had any other problems with restaurants in lassi and my sister and dad’s food were nice but nothing to rave about. They then charged my dad for the t bone steak, and we also paid for the calamari. The people in this restaurant do not know how to cook well and are extremely rude to customers. Contrary to the uk and many other countries, In Greece the customer is always wrong. In the end I left starving having not eaten anything with my night ruined, after being verbally abused, and with money down the drain. Please take my advice and go...
Read moreThe soups (vegetable and minestrone) were bland, as if watered down after preparation. Pesto pasta had literally less than 20g of sauce in it, and it was way past its "best-by" date, the olive oil they used had very clearly turned rancid; and the pasta itself was obviously store-bought (less of an issue) and cooked at least 30 mins prior to being served (much more of a problem). Wife had the Giouvetsi, which had literally no tomato sauce in it, and the meat was very tough and chewy, practically a bubblegum. Even though Il Gabbiano is officially also a bar, they do not serve any fresh-squeezed juices. The capuccino was also heavily watered down (though the cream on top was actually really good). The atmosphere is okay-ish, nothing to write home about. We were served by four different waiters, and at the end, paying by card has a mandatory tip inclusion (on the POS terminal itself) between 5 and 30%, in steps of 5. While not rude, the waiters made it feel like we were a nuisance (even though we didn't take long to decide on what to get, and we were on our best behavior), and the waiter taking care of the payment was clearly annoyed by the 5% choice, he made sure to groan quite audibly and avoid further eye contact...
All in all, we are never coming back, and would advise...
Read moreObviously been a hard few months based on previously glowing reviews. 4 people, food mostly cooked from frozen (eg, frozen pizza and chicken masala), greens and vegetables barely existant. Asked for a Mythos (pint - she said yes) and got a Carlsberg (perhaps dont do by draught, but no need to lie to the customer), this was confirmed by one of the staff, we also got a bottled Mythos. Food wait was long and ultimately disappointing... free desert nibble at the end was the best thing all evening. Sure it has potential to be alright, but this is a 'restaurant' based more on view from road versus the content within. My worst food experience in Greece to date, especially as others seem...
