Gradakia Beach — Attraction in Argostoli Municipality

Gradakia Beach, my favorite gem on the island of Kefalonia, has left me utterly captivated. With its soft sand and crystal-clear waters, this beach is an absolute marvel. Getting here is a breeze, as the beach is easily accessible by car. Free parking is an added convenience, ensuring a stress-free arrival.

The beach offers a variety of sunbed setups, with front-row options priced at 15 euros and those further back at 12 euros. The comfortable amenities make lounging a pleasure, and the well-organized bar ensures that you won't have to venture far for refreshments. The ambience is picturesque and ideal for snapping memorable photos.

For those who enjoy aquatic adventures, Gradakia Beach has a treat in store. Swimming near the beach reveals hidden coves, creating a perfect spot for snorkeling enthusiasts to explore the vibrant marine life beneath the surface. Families with children will find the sandy shoreline accommodating, and the shallow waters allow for safe exploration. The gradual depth of the sea ensures that you can walk out quite a distance before it becomes too deep.

One fascinating feature is the natural rock formation on the left side of the beach, resembling a picturesque backdrop. While the beach isn't extensive in size, its allure draws visitors, so it's wise to arrive early in the morning (preferably by 9:30 am) during the summer months to secure a spot and an umbrella.

Furthermore, Gradakia Beach thoughtfully offers a complimentary shower to refresh after a day of sun and sea. The absence of watercraft rentals, such as jet skis and pedal boats, adds to the beach's tranquil charm. Probably a very nice beach—though I can’t say for sure, since it’s fully carpeted with sunbeds and umbrellas. If your dream holiday is lying 5 centimetres away from a total stranger and accidentally memorising their sunscreen brand, this is the place for you.

Oddly enough, even with all those umbrellas, there’s very little actual shade. Since you can’t move the setup, you end up roasting in the sun for the bargain price of €20 per set. The water and nature, of course, are stunning—because, well, it’s this beautiful island and yes it’s beautiful here as well. (Love the island).

Oh, and a pro tip: show up at 5pm and you’ll still be charged the full price. I saw a mix of people either grumbling and paying up or just turning around in defeat.

Plaža Gradakia Letovanje, Kefalonija Lasi, 2019 krajem juna meseca. Plaža sa predivnim sivim peskom kao da je vulkanskog porekla. Mala plaža sa ležaljkama i suncobranima, međutim možete kao i mi da donesete svoj suncobran. Hlad može da se pronađe i u malim pećinama u pozadini plaže. Po podne obavezno sa papučama idite do mora i tu ih ostavite jer je pesak vreo. “Gradakia bar” vam je odmah tu ako nešto zatrebate. Plaža je kao i većina kombinacija peska i po rubovima oivičena stenama. Odmah do Gradakije su dve plaže, Plaža sa pećinama i Mala plaža. Mi smo do Gradakije uvek išli putem odmah do supermarketa “Soulas” i prvom desno zemljanom stazom spuštali se do plaže. Tu se desio jedan divan događaj. Na tom zemljanom putu dok smo se vraćali sa plaže sreli smo Peni iz Brajtona koja je imala identičnu haljinu kao i moja žena. To je bio razlog za zajedničku fotografiju. Na Gradakiju smo najčešće išli i to skoro svako po podne. Pre podne je bilo za obilazak drugih plaža. Postovane slike.
