DO BETTER. A lovely evening spoilt by the owner. Started so well. Such a a warm greeting and shown to our table quickly. Starters were recommended and we chose those. Enjoyed them but some were cold and some were warm so not sure how they're supposed to be. Nevertheless we were looking forward to our mains. I really enjoyed mine, my daughter left a lot of hers (I'll come to that in a minute) my husband had the mussel risotto which was tasty but the 3 large mussels on the side were really tough, flavorless and not nice at all. Saying that we both finished the plates except the last mussel and my daughters. When the waitress came to take our plates she asked us if everything was ok and I said I really enjoyed mine. My husband said, honestly, the mussels in the side are not great and explained why. She went on to get the owner who insisted we tell him what wasn't good and wanted it to be ok. We didn't want to make a fuss and at no point made a scene just explained about the mussels and then he pointed at my daughters plate and said and this? I went on to explain that she just didn't like the sauce, nothing wrong with it so to speak but the peppercorn sauce was like a thick beef gravy with so many full peppercorns, it's just not what she's used to but not their fault, they just do it differently to which he agreed and said it's how we do it. Fine. He took the plates away and that was that. We waited and waited to catch someone's eye as I wanted a dessert and after 10 mins a waitress brought one to our table then again we waited and waited and waited for not one person to come or even make eye contact. We were totally being ignored. I stood up and went and asked a young waitress for our bill, which came quickly but again no one came to take our payment. Eventually we went to the owner who said we had to pay by card inside which I did. In silence. No eye contact. No smile. Nothing. He gave me my receipt and so I then said, I know my husband had a small issue with his dinner tonight which you wanted to know about but since then we have totally been ignored and left alone with no service, no eye contact no smile nothing. I wanted a desert but no one came to take my order. You have really upset out evening... to which he said, yes but I felt insulted at what he said. So I replied, yes but you've just ignored us for the rest of the evening and he just looked uncomfortable and didn't know what to say. I get no one wants to get bad reviews or issues with their food. But it happens and if this is the way you deal with it then you don't deserve paying customers. Mistakes happen and bad plates come out occasionally. I hope you learn from this and deal with future customers with professionalism...

Chefalonia is more than just a restaurant—it's an unforgettable culinary journey. The family behind this incredible place are true professionals in every sense of the word. They bring a level of dedication and passion to their craft that sets them apart on this island. It’s clear that they deserve every bit of recognition for their hard work.

The food? Absolutely delicious! From fresh local ingredients to exquisite flavors, every dish is crafted with care. The cocktails are equally outstanding—thoughtfully created and full of flavor.

But what truly makes Chefalonia stand out is the legendary sense of hospitality. They welcome you as if you’re part of the family, and that warmth permeates every aspect of the dining experience. It's a perfect example of how a family-run business should be: authentic, welcoming, and thriving.

If you’re on the island, this is one place you absolutely must visit! Highly...

We both ordered chicken dishes after excellent, friendly service by the staff. Chicken robola + chicken boureki (as seen in pics). The Boureki was mince chicken with cheddar cheese which had a strong flavour throughout, which accompanied the sweetness of the red peppers and yoghurt sauce on top. I’d recommend this dish for sure! The Robola was a rich creamy chicken dish which is very filling.

A perfect restaurant to eat in the evening as there is a perfect view for the sunsetting and neighbouring islands. The view alone is worth the visit. The house white wine is also very sweet and tasty.

And again, the staff are so friendly and informative. Do not miss out on this restaurant if you visit the area. If you have any doubt or questions the staff will answer in great...

This restaurant was recommended to us by our car rental company so we had dinner there one evening and were not disappointed! A tiny bit off the beaten track - which also adds to its ambience of a countryside balcony away from the hustle and bustle of town centers - we may not have found it if it hadn’t been for the recommendation we received. A family-run business, the owner obviously cares deeply about his restaurant, the food, service and his clients’ overall experience. The cocktail menu was whimsical and inventive and the food was delicious, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. An absolute must for at least one dinner during your stay in Kefalonia! And I look forward to our next visit during which we’ll definitely be dining at Chefalonia again! Highly recommended.

Such a fantastic restaurant with a lovely family who run it. From the start the service was top notch as was the food. We had mains of salmon for my wife who loved it, chicken souvlaki for me which was so tender and my daughters had the carbonara which was decent also. For desserts we had baklava that was so yummy and an Affigato which was also very nice. However the people who run it are the ones who stand out as the owner kindly wrote down places for us to visit and gave us pointers etc which he needn’t do and the ladies there really looked after my toddler and made us feel so at home. So please visit them as they are a cut above the rest. Thank you everyone at Chefalonia we will definitely come see you again before we leave :D
