Spyros — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

We found this restaurant after reading a review on this site. It was a mile walk from our apartments but after our 1st visit we made this our restaurant of choice and visited it for our main evening meal for our last 3 days as the food was really well cooked and tasted amazing. I had the garlic steak with veg and rice, 2 days in a row, then a lamb with veg and rice on the 3rd day as my partner had eaten the lamb twice also and I wouldn't get tired of telling you how great these meals were. So the food tastes amazing and the owners appear to be a family run business with everyone from the grandpa to the grand daughter working there and they were all so friendly and willing to talk, even though they're English wasn't brilliant, but it was perfectly adequate and they were the friendliest of people. I can't knock any of our restaurant in our area as the food was really of a high standard but the family made this our restaurant of choice...... if your in the area do yourself a favour and have a meal here...... you won't be...

Overall we felt that this restaurant belonged to the past. The food was acceptable, nothing special, in fact it is definitely not what we have been used to eating in Cephalonia. The service was fine, the atmosphere was nice. We visited the place at the peak hour for the wasps and we were surprised that only some tables had been given a device to keep them away. What also surprised me was that at the end they only brought a treat for our son. It was nice as a gesture but usually if there is a treat, ice cream in this case, I believe that everyone on the table...

We came from Trapezaki to come back to Spyros. We stayed in Vlachata 4 years ago and ate here on at least 4 of the 7 nights. The family are lovely and I was so pleased to hear that Grandma (now aged 98!) is alive and well. It's really simple but wonderful food. Traditional Greek with tzatziki so garlicky it's almost spicy and the most tender lamb chops! So pleased we came back! The only issue was that we were under the tent with no breeze so it was rather warm! But that was our fault for not booking! Thanks again Spyros.....hopefully see...
