Grillhouse Spyros — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

DISAPPOINTING. As a souvlaki enthusiast, this food was average. If you look at the photo there was no souvlaki included in the meat platter and we got charged €15 euro for dips. Plus the small bit of souvla we did get were fat so inedible. I also thought tzaziki was included in all main meals but we got charged for it. Waiter also informed us that Kontosouvli is not ready and would be brought out 30 mins later. It never came. When this was questioned, he said it was included in the platter, this was a lie.

If you look at my photo, there are 6 thin slices of tomato, three pieces of lemons and no souvlaki/ kotosouvla, instead there are a few small shavings of pork and chicken.

In a nutshell, the four person sharer doesn't add up. 6 thin slices of tomato (one slice had a worm in it, it was shown to waiter but only an appology given - NO REPLACMENT!), three small bits of lemon, only a few small shavings of the good quality meat and the rest is half a small loukaniko each. Half a small bifteki each, small kebab and half small chicken bifteki each. Basically, you are given all the poor quality salty cheaper meats. It is clear that the bigger the sharer the less you get per person. It's basically a rip off. This accompanied with €15 tzaziki confirms the rip off.

Its a shame as in these difficult times, they shouldn't be operating like this. Hopefully this review stops others getting caught out by this and stops people ordering the platter.

I think we might have also got caught out by the bread tax as this may have been included in the meal but it is not clear and they don't list prices clearly.

Also there is no kids play area nearby as stated by other reviews.

In a nutshell €76 for four people. It's not bad by UK prices but on Kefalonia, this is definitely a bit pricey.

Nonetheless, I will go...

Superb souvlaki and gyros shop. It's not a steakhouse. They do an absolute mega roaring trade for good reason. Everyone wants their food all the time! They make everything absolutely flawlessly. Where they stand out I think, is their pork and chicken kondosouvli. This is marinated lean meat with an amazing spice show cooked over coal, together with peppers and onions. If you haven't had this as a non-Greek, you must. This stuff isn't easy to find in the rest of the country! Great selection of alcohol to drink too. The bottles are kept ICY cold. Grill House Spyros is a perfect place in Argostoli if you’re craving authentic Greek flavors.
