Liostasi Retreat|I want to mention from the start that this was our third consecutive year visiting this wonderful island, but it was our first time choosing the capital, Argostoli. We spent 9 wonderful days at Liostasi with my wife and our two children. We booked the apartment back in January, as it seemed ideal for us: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a large hallway with a fully equipped open-space kitchen, and an enormous balcony. The retreat’s rooms are named after famous beaches on the island, and ours was named Myrtos.|The rooms are very beautiful, cleaning is done daily with great care, and our hosts were constantly attentive to anything that could improve the guests’ stay.|From the very first day, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts, Giannis and Vassiliky.|The location is very close to the airport, about a 20-minute drive, and also very near the lively city center, approximately a 10-minute walk to the first shopping stores and the impressive waterfront.|Although we initially thought we knew the island well, our host provided us with a map and circled a multitude of new places worth visiting and exploring.|Back to Liostasi. We wanted accommodation with breakfast included from the start, and we didn’t regret it at all. The breakfast was hearty, healthy, and typically Mediterranean, including, among other things: fresh fruits, Greek yogurt, honey, cereals, coffee, chocolate pastries, delicious bread, various jams, cheese, orange juice, and other items that, honestly, you can probably see in the photos.|There’s also the option to have dinner here, but unfortunately, I can’t provide details since we didn’t have time for it. We would return late in the evening from the city, spend some time on the balcony terrace, and plan the next day.|We felt amazing, the kids were thrilled with all the amenities provided by our hosts, and we left reluctantly but promised to return with joy to these wonderful and welcoming people.|George, Mirabela,...
Read moreThis was the perfect retreat for our 10-day vacation in Kefalonia. It offers a great view of the Argostoli Bay - and a very relaxing terrace with olive trees where to enjoy breakfast or a delicious dinner. The restaurant is open until late at night, but its operation does not interfere in any way with one's desire for a good night sleep.||The marina, the shopping street, the bridge and the restaurants are all in short walking distance (15-30 mins).||The villa has it's one private parking (enough for 6-7 cars), with more parking spaces available on the street nearby (with low traffic).||We spent 7 nights in a 2-room apartment (40 sqm) and 3 nights in a "maisonette" (85 sqm, basically a 2-level apartment, that can easily accomodate 6 people) - both facing the bay - and both very clean, cosy and practical at the same time.||The owners and the staff were very kind, helpful and understanding with our need for a couple of breakfasts to-go. The food packs they provided us with (with sandwiches, jam, fruits and orange juice) came in very handy during our explorations of the island.||We really felt welcome and cared for. Liostasi is a genuine retreat, part of what makes Kefalonia so charming - and it will definitely be our first choice when returning...
Read moreUsually I don’t write negative reviews but wish I would have been warned about how you are treated here as a guest.
While the value for money is incredibly low and you don’t get what you paid for, the worst is how you are treated and how valid complaints are dealt with.
Rooms are offered with partial sea view while they actually are mid basement souterrain holes. Super dark and smelly. Also WLAN is merely exisitent and as other reviews already mentioned facilities are really worn down (eg kitchen equipment, faucets, etc). When compared to other hotels and guest houses in this price range on the island just incredibly poor and shabby (experience of 6 years coming to Kefalonia). Worst however is that you cannot rely on verbal agreements (limited breakfast option available before time due to early airport departure) and reaction towards justified complaints. Fraud case with booking.com is pending. Do not care about any comments from the owner side. Just wanted to clearly warn others. On booking.com they cancelled my booking as noshow while still charging my credit card in order to prevent my negative review. Nature of scammers...
