Nefeli is a charming local tavern nestled in the heart of Lassi, Kefalonia – a lovely spot if you’re looking to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine in a traditional setting. The staff is welcoming, speaks excellent English, and makes you feel at home from the moment you step in.
The menu is quite extensive and ideal for those wanting to explore Greek flavors. The Greek salad and boiled vegetables were fresh and delicious, and the chicken souvlaki was generous in portion, served with crispy fries and a flavorful sauce.
If you’re in a group larger than three, expect a short wait during peak hours – for couples, it’s much easier to find a table quickly. One odd note: they charge €2.60 for two slices of bread, which felt unnecessary, especially since many places typically offer pita bread on the side without an extra charge.
Prices are fair for the area, and the atmosphere is cozy, with a classic Greek tavern style that adds to the overall experience. A nice stop if you’re in Lassi and want to dine...
Read moreNothing to say about the food because the behaviour of the cashier and the main waiter ruined the memory of the night. Don't come here if you are with a group. Don't come here if you are young or if you just prefere a kind and civil treatment. The cashier stops people talking to her by putting her hand in front of them and the waiter yells at you if you ask to split the bill. They probably would treat better a group of 50th year olds but they took advantage of us not being intimidating, to pressure us to pay in a hurry, without checking the receipt, which is written in greek!
P.s. the reply they gave to this review is also rude and makes no sense as they did not know in how many parts we wanted to split, plus every restaurant we went to, even busyer and bigger, did it without a problem. The disappointment was towards the manner more than anything else and they proved the point with the " you are not ready for a...
Read moreWe always eat at Nefeli when we come to Kefalonia. We don't eat there every night but at least 3 to 4 times over the course of our 2 week holiday. The food is very tasty & plentiful so bring your appetite. Service is excellent, the waiters are friendly & polite. If you like a starter before your main course our recommendation is to share because portions are generous & with the obligatory bread, you are well on your way to being full up before your main course. Our favourite starters are cheese pies, tzatziki, fried courgette balls, our favourite mains are chicken souvlaki, kleftiko, beef stifado, chicken fillet. You do not have to have these courses with chips you can ask for roast potatoes or rice. House wine is as good as any bottled be it white or red & there is always a complimentary drink offered by the taverna at the end of your meal. We would highly recommend Nefeli as one for...
