Food was very good, however, the experience was not nice. I’ll explain briefly: they brought us a dish we didn’t order by mistake (without saying what it was called) and we started eating, because we genuinely thought it was our order. It was our first night here in Greece and we are NOT used to Greek food, we don’t know the dishes. When they brought us the other dishes we realized their mistake. We could not eat half of the food we wanted because we felt bad for all the meat they brought us by mistake and, knowing they would throw it away, we ate it up and we were then very full. We refused to pay for the food we didn’t order because it was their mistake. They did not apologize (not even once), instead, they were just rude and tried to put all the fault on us, implying that we perfectly knew that we were eating the wrong dish and that we did it on purpose just to get free food. They shouted (loud) “shame on you girls” from the kitchen because of it. We are 4 students and we order the food we can afford, therefore we are not willing to pay for a mistake the service did. Never have we been through...
Read moreHighly recommended on Trip Advisor, we decided to give Ladokola a try for ourselves and we were not disappointed at all. We ate fairly early in the evening but the place was already quite popular and judging from the interaction between staff and customers, many were repeat and/or local.
The menu is pretty extensive but relatively simple and we opted to start with grilled peppers stuffed with spices cheese followed by pork gyros and pork souvlaki, washed down by a chilled house red. The food was delicious and filling. Main courses are served on paper but don’t be put off; it’s hygienic and very effective.
A point to note - mains are delivered before you’ve finished your starter at every restaurant we’ve tried here so be prepared for a ver full table.
Ladokola is cool and shaded, and the atmosphere is very relaxed but there’s plenty going on with a great, non-intrusive soundtrack in the background.
There’s so much choice of eating places around the area and we would certainly recommend Ladokola - so much so, we’ll definitely be going...
Read moreThe food here is cheap, that is true. But the man, who is giving the bills up front is cheaper than the food! An old liar, who doesn't admit, when he made a mistake and gave us the wrong bill. We paid it and then he gave us the receipt, which wasn't ours, because it had more things on it than we ordered. We showed it to him and said we paid the wrong bill. He just took it and said it was correct and threw it away! I was not ok with the response and wanted it back and he started to "search" for it, but on purpose started to throw so many receipts. Then there was his colleague, who understood what I was saying and started to write down what we have ordered. She showed it to him and he started to push buttons on the calculator and saying that it was the correct bill. He never gave us our receipt back and was rude. I know that he made a mistake with the bills. I saw the menu again. He could just say "sorry" and give us our bill, but no! He lied. The greeks have a good word for such a person. It starts with M :) I will never visit your...
