SAPOU — Restaurant in Athens

Thursday night (19.12). Group of seven. The restaurant is packed probably due to the holiday season. Lots of noise coming from everywhere making it hard to listen to the people in our own table. But it’s ok since it is the holiday season and most of the other tables are larger companies. More serious issues though came up later in the night. We placed our order @21:30. The appetizers came fairly quickly. @22:50 we asked the staff about our main courses. They said they should be coming soon and cleared the table from the appetizers. At 23:05 we asked again an about the main courses as still no sign of them. The person in charge replied that we “are next”. As if we were in line at the bank. When we mentioned that they had mentioned 15 minutes again that our main courses were about to come she replied that “I am telling you what the kitchen tells me” (way to the throw your fellow coworkers under the bus!). 6 of the main courses came at 23:20 and the seventh at 23:30, a whole two hours after we had placed the order. Besides the delay which is unacceptable, the most surprising and annoying issue wa the manners of the two people in charge. They never informed us properly, they had attitude and NEVER apologized for anything. As if they did us a favor for having us at their restaurant. Pretentious and arrogant. And for the prices they charge the least you expect is good service. And while delays can happen and could be part of the game, such...

We conducted our company dinner event in Sapou and it was amazing! We were about 55 guests and all of them enjoyed dinner so much!

It all started with the lovely and professional approach of Philippa who assisted in organising this and fixing the menu.

It continued with a great service by all the staff on the night of the event - kind, professional and always with a smile.

The venue is beautifully designed and the tables setup was elegant and classy.

The food was delicious and well served. We enjoyed all the dishes on our menu - the starters, the mains and the dessert. Some of the dishes had a surprising and unique taste. And again, all of them were super tasty!

It’s important to mention that the timing of the kitchen was perfect and all dishes came out to all guests on the same time.

We had local wines that accompanied the dinner greatly.

I highly recommend Sapou for a wonderful...

Booked a table one week before tha visiting day ( Friday evening, time 22:30). When we enter the restaurant first of all no one welcomed us, after 10 min the girl (supposed to be the manager of the restaurant) told us to wait a little bit. At the end after waiting 15 min they told you have a place on the bar, that at the moment was fully occupied. So we lost our time, mood and our Friday dinner, cause till the time we realized we are not going to be served passed 20 min and was really late to find any other option for the evening. So without even feeling they really tried to find a solution we left. I count it like very very bad service not to offer even smth to your client... just let them go, saying “I don’t know what to say”... it’s inappropriate and not...
