TL;DR - good food, reasonably priced, excellent service.
I came here on a Sunday evening with my brother. We were seated by a friendly waiter very quickly, and it was nice that he asked us which table we wanted from a selection. It wasn't too busy either.
The restaurant itself is quite easy to find, modern, and large enough with both outdoor and indoor seating areas. The restaurant area and the toilets were very clean as well.
The menu had a fair amount of choice of plates, and a 'daily specials' menu on the front which wasn't on the website - Greek dishes including moussaka, stifado, lamb and more.
We were given their own chilled carbon-filtered water for free with the table with unlimited refills - I must say, it's the freshest-tasting water I've had so far on my week in Athens! We were also given a potato and leek soup, nice white and brown crusty bread, and olive and cream (I think) pastes alongside them, all for free. The soup was nice, but a tad too salty for my taste.
We ordered a Greek salad as a starter which was nice - although slightly overpriced I think for what it was worth. The ingredients all tasted fresh and the tomatoes were plentiful and tasty! We both ordered a moussaka as a main course which came with vegetables on the side; this was a good-sized portion, filling and very tasty!
To finish, we were given a profiterole dessert for free, and a lemon-style drink with our bill - both were very nice.
The bill itself was a very reasonable 40 euros. I can almost guarantee you won't walk away feeling hungry! In fact, nearly everyone I saw in this restaurant couldn't finish their meal because they were too full.
Something that made this restaurant stand out the most to us was the service - all the staff were friendly and welcoming, speaking both fluent English and Greek. They regularly checked if we were enjoying our meal, and heard them say to the table next to us that they are always looking for feedback to improve their food and valued honest opinions about why they couldn't finish their meal; this made a very good impression. What's more, the waiter even kindly knocked the price of one of their dishes off their receipt because one of the guests was too full to eat it.
Overall, a highly recommended restaurant. I rarely give 5-star reviews for restaurants, and it is even rarer for me to not be able to fault one. If you're looking for a good, friendly restaurant, this is the one! I would definitely consider coming...

The Service here really sets Oroscopo apart from its competition. Which, in a row of three restaurants and a bar and being next door to hotel that has a good restaurant also with rave reviews makes the difference. The guys are all wearing HUGO BOSS polo shirts looking very smart everybody has a smile everybody has time. Nothing is too much the Pre starter bread and potato and leek soup on our first visit was a lovely touch as was the continuous supply of water which when it’s 35° you absolutely need the raspberry Coulis and the free ice cream at the end of the meal all made the experience just a little bit more special Greek salad was incredibly fresh and nicely seasoned, but the absolute humdinger is the beef short ribs. Go to this restaurant just to have this dish and I promise you will not be disappointed. It was my son‘s choice. I was gonna go for the lamb but when he said I think Greek salad and beef short ribs that I was sold and it was exceptional. I can only thank the team And the Chef for making it a really special night as always we all ended up talking football with Greek teams and Premier League banter made us feel incredibly at home and relaxed. This really is a super place to spend the evening drinking cold beer and chatting honestly we are so lucky it’s a stones throw from our hotel and we will be going back tonight. It was that good.
OK, today is Sunday and we have visited every evening for the last three evenings on Friday evening, My son had the fillet steak black Angus medium rare. I had the moussaka we had a selection of starters see photographs below. Food is exceptionally good hence why we’ve been back now three times but again, I cannot emphasize how important the staff are in this absolutely Wonderful find of a restaurant.. And last night being Saturday, we had spent the day walking around the island of Poros so we weren’t in the mood to walk very far from the hotel and yet again the guys at Oroscopo outdid themselves with some awesome truffle, ravioli, and chicken skewer
I simply cannot recommend this totally exceptional gem enough get the boys talking about football and you’ll be amongst friends immediately especially if you like Liverpool Man city or Man utd 😆
We still have five days left of our trip and we will definitely be back again thank you guys for making it such an exceptional part of...
Read moreOroscopo Restaurant in Athens offers a truly enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service stood out for being exceptionally attentive and thoughtful. Right from the start, we were welcomed with sourdough bread and two kinds of dips, a lovely way to begin the meal, followed by a complimentary potato and leek soup, which added an extra touch of hospitality.
For starters, we had the traditional Greek zucchini “kefte” served with a yogurt mint sauce, and the beef meatballs stuffed with mozzarella, paired with basil sauce and tomato confit on crispy bread. Both dishes were flavorful and well-prepared. From the mains, we tried the risotto with wild mushrooms, gorgonzola cheese, and pumpkin purée, as well as the kritharoto — orzo pasta cooked risotto-style with shrimp, squid, fresh tomato, fennel, and a hint of ouzo. These were enjoyable and nicely presented, though not particularly mind-blowing. We also had the kokkinisto, a slowly braised Greek chicken in a hearty tomato sauce, which was comforting and satisfying.
The standout dish for me was the fresh ravioli stuffed with porcini mushrooms, truffle, and parmesan cream. It was beautifully creamy, with just the right amount of truffle and sauce — rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced. To finish the meal, the restaurant treated us to complimentary tiramisu and panna cotta, along with a refreshing strawberry granita, which was the perfect way to end the night.
While the prices were overall reasonable, some portions felt a little on the small side for what you pay. That said, Oroscopo is definitely a place worth visiting if you’re in the area — especially for its warm service, thoughtful extras, and standout...
