Smash'n Bun — Restaurant in Athens

I always try to leave reviews on American-style fare in Athens because it's just SO hard to find the real deal - Smash'n Bun has absolutely done it RIGHT!

Starting with the burger: I got the Teddy's classic and it was absolutely delicious - the only truly smashed/flattened patty I've had here. It was both crispy and juicy, exactly as it should be. The beef was SUCH good quality it's honestly underpriced. The bun was so fresh and also unique - somewhere between the potato bun you'd get at Shake Shack, with gentle crispiness that you'd find at a more elevated joint. Finally a burger place that doesn't use a boring brioche! The cheese, tomato, lettuce were all good quality and flavorful - they weren't just "extra" to full the burger, they added to the taste, which is unusual. Finally, the pickles - SO good and not the run of the mill too-sour kind, they are really well balanced! I would have preferred it a little more well done, but it was so good I didn't care.

The snb sauce deserves its own praise: I was expecting your average burger sauce, and I was wrong. One of the most unique sauces I've had on a burger - it's totally fresh and refreshing and classic all at once. It's got some herbal brightness that really sets it apart.

Finally, the sweet potato fries were delish - crispy crunchy and not at all soggy by the time they arrived at my door.

This place will definitely become a staple in my rotation here. Believe it or not, I have no affiliation at all to this place - I just loved their food and really want to make sure it gets the attention it deserves. TL;DR 10/10 would absolutely eat again. Probably the best burger you can get in...

Hello management. I live in Greece now and I was looking for a nice burger place. But I just read this recent appalling, awful review and you did not have the decency to respond. Nobody from our group of friends and relatives will ever visit you!
