Our family booked via telephone a 3-night stay at the master suit of Hotel Boulgari, paid 1-night installment and received via sms a booking confirmation three weeks prior arrival. On arrival on March 22, 2019, after a 4-hour trip from Athens, we were denied our stay by Mr Nikos Boulgaris, who initially didn' t accept that he had received any booking at all. When he was shown the sms messages sent by his mobile confirming the booking and the down payment, he told us that there was a mistake and the suit was available only for 1 night, due to a double booking. ||What was really annoying was that although the suit was available when we arrived (it was double booked only for the following 2 nights), he didn't permit us to stay, as the guest that had made the second booking was, according to his say, someone from a foreign embassy and he couldn't break that booking. We had never been explained why our booking could be broken, though. ||Finally, after we insisted that we are not going to stay for just 1 night and then look for another hotel for the rest 2 (which was proposed by him as something natural), he found for us a junior suit (one room suit, instead of two) in another hotel in the town, he paid the difference in the price (as the law requires on this occasion) and he apologized. ||Lack of professionalism (double booking at a hotel with 6 rooms in total is a management failure for sure) and unexcused discrimination during the handling of the incident. ||I wouldn't suggest any booking there, but if you do try one, check your booking again and again before leaving home and cross your...
Read moreStated as a one star because of a poor customer service, unreasonable accusations and greediness of the owner. We find this place in a last moment and book via the phone, which has been our mistake. The room was cost 120 euros a night. We been told it’s folly booked , although as we find out later in the hotel was only us. Book only for one night but due to not wanting to move decided to stay the second night two. First of all he wouldn't accept the card payment. Parking ticket was out of dates for two years, which could be a problem for us if police would have find out. Secondly when asked to charge the bedding and towels for the second night we been asked to pay extra of 30 euros. At the end we been just given all bedding and had to change the it our self. The room has no coffee stationary, which was disappointing and would be expected for to be include, also the breakfast choice were poor. From cooking meal was only fried eggs. The lady who was serving us on a second day wasn’t friendly and was nice only to my partner, which made it a bit strange. The cherry on the cake was a unreasonable accusations of broken door handle for the entrance.... which was broken already on the day we arrived. We been accused on braking and not to report it in time ... personally I Wouldn’t recommend this place as the owner are simply just trying to rip off the customers. And even If you will decide to book this place , would strongly recommend to book though the web side with a card payment. This way you can...
Read moreHotel Boulgari is definitely one of the best boutique hotels existing in Ioannina if not in Greece. And here the term boutique it is honoured all the way. The hotel is very small with suites and rooms that can meet and exceed the wishes of bleisure travellers like us. ||||We had 3 rooms booked and because of the size of the hotel and its availability, we had booked the deluxe suite, the junior suite and the Superior Double Room. All three rooms were more than cosy and comfortable. They are very stylish with contemporary features that are perfectly combined with the elements of the building. The beds and quality of sleep were our biggest surprise. The Hypnos mattresses offered such a comfort that it was one of our discussions during breakfast.||||The hotel is definitely very small. From the outside, not much can be seen but as soon as you step in the main door a beautifully laid out courtyard welcomes everyone. || The reception is at the level of the breakfast area which again is modern and cosy.||||The breakfast was more than pleasing with homemade and local delicacies available for us to try. ||||As for its location, it is another plus since we could just walk anywhere we wanted without...
