An extraordinary dining experience — quite possibly the finest we have encountered in Possidi (630 77, Greece). The cuisine demonstrates an artistry that goes far beyond the ordinary. Each dish, at once inventive and sophisticated, distinguishes itself from the standard fare of neighboring establishments. The flavors are delicate yet striking, the presentation executed with an elegance that speaks of true culinary mastery. So captivated were we that we requested to meet the chef herself, in order to convey our gratitude face to face.
Service proved equally impeccable — attentive without being intrusive, professional yet warmly human. The setting, meanwhile, elevated the evening into something almost ethereal: dining while the sun melted into the horizon over the Aegean was nothing short of a spectacle. It was a suspended moment in time, one that lingers in memory long after the plates have been cleared, and one that I would unreservedly recommend to any traveler who passes through Possidi.
The finale came in the form of a dessert that resonated with rare emotional depth. Its flavors were bold yet comforting, imbued with a sense of familiarity that transported me instantly to the sweet recollections of my childhood in Thessaloniki. A closing note as evocative as it...
Read moreSeldom do I actually sit and write a review of a restaurant. However, this occasion differs greatly to what I have experienced so far, visiting Greece since the 1970s on a regular basis. It is not the quality of the food served here, which was good if not outstanding, nor it is the service which was also fine, it is the attitude of the chief waiter (concierge of sorts) who was very eager to take our orders, feed us and dispatch us as soon as possible, in order to make use of the table to serve more guests. Perhaps it is the way things operate on Lower Manhattan on a work day, but it is diametrically opposite of how things operate in Greece! It is a contradictio in adiecto with concepts such as "Ouzeri", "Mesedopoleio" and even "Taverna". To rush people on their vacation to finish their meals and pack up is something I have never seen here before. We were told we couldn't occupy the table for very long from the get-go. The bill came long before we have finished our courses and were refused further service for sweets and coffee. Simply outrageous! Even though the restaurant is on the most beautiful place in entire village of Posidi, I would never, ever, recommend it...
Read moreThe food was good but the service ruined the place for us. We had a reservation for 9pm and arrived at 9:10. We were seated at a table that was still dirty from the previous guests and waited for another 10 minutes for it to be prepared. When arranging the plates, the waiter broke one of them but never brought us a new one. Then we got some water but no menus. Another 15 minutes in and no waiter in sight, I finally went to get a menu from another table so the 6 of us can actually order something to eat. Basically it was a constant "fight" with other tables to get the attention of the staff who were sometimes disappearing for 10+ minutes. We asked for some items twice, others were coming in wrong. It wasn't just us as there were many annoyed faces at other tables. In terms of food: the fish we had (barbouni) was overfried, the fried zuchini were basically just the breading, but the grilled octopus and the grilled...
