I sat down at a table at Tom’s Sea Side in Nidri and was given a menu. The waitress immediately asked if we were going to eat. I politely replied that we’d first like to check the menu to decide whether we’d eat, and in the meantime, we’d like to order a coffee.

Her answer was shockingly rude: she told us that they’re a restaurant, and if we just want a coffee, we should go somewhere else – even though coffee is listed in their menu. When I pointed this out, she snapped that coffee is only served in the morning. I asked, “So you don’t serve coffee throughout the day?” She responded harshly again, saying only breakfast and coffee are served in the morning and basically told us to leave.

When I said she didn’t even give us a chance to look at the menu, she threw the menus in front of us and then took them away, continuing to yell at me. She didn’t bother to call the manager – I had to go and speak to him myself. He said absolutely nothing while she was whispering things to him in Greek. I explained how rude she was and that she wouldn’t even let us look at the menu. His only answer was: “So look at the menu.”

No apology. No attempt to fix the situation. Just complete rudeness and arrogance. We walked out immediately. I would not recommend this place to anyone – not because of the food (we didn’t even get that far), but because of the incredibly...

Their food is great, but the service cannot handle a full restaurant. Eat there a bit earlier when not many people has arrived.

The service was very informational the first time we went there. We didn't need to rush trough the menu like in many other restaurants, the waiter let us take a good time. It's location is great if you don't want the usual sound and viewing, good place to sit and talk without somone disturbing. The food was really great! I ordered ouzo, they brougth it to the table after the main course as asked, it was perfect because they also served a free baklava. The wine (lefkadios, red) was still left, which I recomend with the food.

Later same week we came back, though there were more people at the tables. It took long time for the service to see us, and the place was not as we thought.

Their food is actually good, and nothing wrong with their service. But perhaps too many people makes it hard for them to handle.

I insist you to go there earlier...

We visited this place last year several times and this year also. The staff was ok for us, always polite and friendly. The location is wonderful, right by the sea and also great shadow. We stayed here for several hours (between 4 and 8 hrs) each time we visited, having water, beer and different foods while swimming from time to time. For us it is an exceptional place and we were never bothered to consume more or stay less. On the contrary, the waiters joked like we were old friends and we did not get offended but felt it was a nice approach. In our group we had a 7 year old and a 70 year old and everybody from nephew to grandparent had a great time. Somehow we felt it was cheaper this year, or maybe we just drank and ate less 🤣. The old man that i presume is the owner meticulously checks the bills inside the restaurand at his desk and we always leave a tip for their hospitality. Hope this review helps. Oh and we saw other large family groups around from...

Excellent light lunch of Lefkada salad, olive oil crumb base, tomatoes and a topping of feta mousse, with cucumber, Lefkada salami and capers. Also plate of beetroot and bread to mop up with! We spent several lazy afternoons here having a bite to eat and a few glasses of Retsina inbetween soaking up the sun and views and the waterside sun beds. One afternoon, as we were leaving, we asked Tom what time the fish shop opened, unfortunately we thought it too long to wait to buy anything for our supper. Tom asked what we wanted - a couple os sea bass - he opened a drawer in what turned out to be a large cooler and lifted out a fine couple of fish. What a surprise and a fair price for the tasty meal we later cooked.
