Utopia Sunset — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

We went to Utopia for my daughter’s 16 birthday. We booked a front row table (€300 minimum consumption) and paid the 50% deposit. I didn't think to check the ratings as we had been there before (we have been coming to Lefkada for 15 yrs) and had good memories. Huge mistake!!

Let’s start with the service - we had to chase our waiter the whole evening, he barely looked in our direction, even though we were the biggest table (and he probably had 2-3 in total). After dinner, he brought us a tray of tequila shots, which we thought were courtesy of the restaurant. But no - not only were they not, but the whole bottle (€210!) was included in the bill.

As for the drinks and food - the cocktails were colorful but barely had any alcohol. The food was bland and extremely overpriced. My two kids ordered the ribeye steaks which were only tendons and fat (that's what you get for €75 each!). My son spit out half of his, as he couldn't chew it and my daughter had to return hers to be cooked further as it was dripping in blood and she had ordered medium.

We returned home and one after the other, my kids started vomiting. In the morning, I sent a message to the manager, first to ask her why the deposit was not deducted (she claimed it was but I contradicted her with the bill on hand) and second, to let her know my kids had gotten food poisoning (to which she responded that that was not possible and if I write a review on it, she was going to sue me for slanderous defamation!!). No attempt to at least apologize, take responsibility and perform an internal investigation.

It’s a shame that such a beautiful setting is wasted by poor management and no desire to seek top service, quality and class (as is expected for...

A complete scam – DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We were a group of 8 people and left extremely disappointed. We ordered a platter of oysters and specifically asked how many pieces were included. We were told “around 10”, but we only got 6 pieces – that’s not an approximation, that’s false advertising.

The meat was brought out uncut and badly presented, impossible to share or enjoy properly. They only sliced what was easiest and left the rest untouched. No proper knife was provided. In a place that claims to be high-end, this is unacceptable.

The portions were ridiculously small, the prices absurd for what we received. The food quality was mediocre at best. We felt like the only goal was to take our money, not to give us a good experience.

To make things worse, they kept bringing bottled water without asking, and then charged us €20 per bottle – a shameless scam hidden behind fake “service.”

The staff? Rude, cold, and unwelcoming. No hospitality, no interest in our comfort – just a robotic attitude as if we were disturbing them.

And after all this? We spent almost €800 and left the place hungry and feeling completely ripped off.

Yes, the view is nice. But it’s not worth the frustration, the hunger, or the feeling of being conned.

We sat at the front row where we had direct view of the kitchen. The ravioli that cost around 40 euros (3 per portion) were frozen to the point that the chef struggled to take them out of the container. They had shrimps inside, which were inedible, since they were, well … frozen. The “strawberry tomato salad” had no strawberries, instead it had watermelon, which is ridiculous for a menu that has only 2 salads to chose from. The buratta it included was sour and we didn’t eat it.

The staff was unprofessional and impolite. They forgot our order two times and when asked when to expect it, the answer was “Sorry guys, my best customer is here, and you can be sure I will give him a 100% tonight” .

In conclusion not only will you wait for at least 45 minutes for terrible food, but you will be mocked by the staff.

Even if you decide to visit and check it out for yourself you will definitely be impressed by what lengths people are ready to go to in order to take an instagarm picture.
