I would like to summarize a few points on our honeymoon in Kalypso, Agios Nikitas hotel. Unfortunately, in case of our honeymoon, we did not received congratulations, no champagne or flowers in the room, even though we informed about it in advance.||||Location is perfect. Mylos beach behind the hill about 20 minutes walk also nice to visit more time then once. ||||Hotel Oddysey next to Kalypso also perfect, we will stay there next time (same money, but better reviews from all guests here.) Swimming pool, bar, very rich breakfast to choose from to taste. Possibility to pay by card etc. ||||Unfortunately I have to evaluate the accommodation in Kalypso hotel very negatively. The travel agency promised to serve breakfast including vegetables and fruits and cereals with milk. The breakfast was every day the same! bred, cheese and ham, jogurt and cake from Lidl or something like that. We kindly ask for fruit, but the receptionist who also serves breakfast told us that it is not a buffet but a continental breakfast. We were bad at such behavior. Another bad experience was when we wanted to park a rented car from a travel agency. There was no place to park on the street, so we asked if we could park at the hotel. Again, no support from receptionist and they refused to park in hotel parking. We had to find a parking free place about 20 minutes and 1 km away from the hotel.||||The last blow was when they told us last night that they wanted to pay the sojourn tax and it was not possible to pay it by card. We always paid in Greece at the beginning of the stay and it was possible to pay by card. On the last day, no one really has a small EUR and thoughts on the sojourn tax. We left all the small cash in the restaurant like a tip on the last day. I really don't understand that a hotel in the 21st century does not accept cards. wifi very weak. Balcony with a beautiful view, but without a partition so you sit 1 m from the neighbors. Room very old and small. The small fridge made cooling noises all night. We confirmed with the others and it really was in all rooms. bathroom with a small shower where waste leaked. So constantly wet floor when you go to the toilet.||||The staff was very nice if you didn't want anything from them (parking, different breakfast, fruit, card payment). A total of two women work here at the reception and cleaners. The cleaning was only about three times in total (from 8 days) . Nobody added shower gel, the glasses were not washed.||||If I had read the reviews before, I wouldn't have gone, but unfortunately I didn't do it before the holidays. ||||I didn't want to write a review , but today's receptionist behavior ruined my last day of vacation. ||||I recommend going to another hotel. I'm in tenth place in Greece and this is the...
Read moreOwned by the same owners of this hotel, an option closer to the beach than the hotel are the two apartments by the sea. For 60 EUR/night you get a nice spotless clean apartment, with 4 times a week cleaning service, a great and big outdoor terrace and all the basic amenities you will need, such as equipped kitchen, bathroom towels, soaps and shampoos, paper towels etc. ||||It is 40m2 that are well used up, we were there with two young children and we didn't feel crammed or uncomfortable at any time.||||Few downsides though:|| - the location is not approachable by a vehicle, meaning that you will have to drag your luggage up and down the steep pedestrian street;|| - no WIFI or any internet;|| - the bedroom didn't have an outdoor window but one overlooking the internal staircase;|| - in order to get to the apartment, you need to pass through two very busy cafes, with 5 cm distance between tables. You can imagine our mutual frustration every time we had to go somewhere with our baby stroller;|| - the A. Nikitas beach is very popular and gets crowded quite fast, so you need to install your beach towels early in the morning. Nonetheless, towards noontime there will be someone laying right next to you, with no space to throw a needle between the two of you;|| - a large rock casts a big shadow on the beach after 17.30, so consider finding another beach to soak up some nice afternoon sun. Pefkoulia is close by and is quite nice and chilled, as opposed to the overrated Kathisma, also within reach.||||Parking is also a problem, but the good owners give you a key of their parking lot, which is on the hilltop, so again plenty of walking which could be a problem, especially if you are loaded with shopping bags or two sleepy children.||||Agios Nikitas is a small but vibrant little village, with lots of content such as restaurants, cafes, shops, markets etc. We went to many places on the island and jointly concluded that we wouldn't want to be situated anywhere else in Lefkada but the...
Read moreWe spent 7 nights (July 2013) at Kalypso Hotel - our first visit in Lefkada.||The thing that we valued most there was the quiet and the peace that surrounded us. You can leave the balcony opened and in the same time to sleep like a baby.||Although the furniture and the facilities are not new, but refurbished - the room is clean: the maids clean the rooms every day, change the towels every 2 days, and during the week we stayed there they changed the sheets once.||The room has a refrigerator, a hob and a small sideboard with some dishes.||Regarding the facilities: the room had air conditiong, and a small and old TV with a few programms.||We had a room with sea view, with a table and two chairs on the balcony.||The hotel has a bar with a terrace (sunny place, with sea view) and a veranda (shaded by vines) where you can have breakfast. Regarding the breakfast - I can say that this was a dissapointing aspect: every morning (for one week) they served the same thing and in very small portions. When we will return, if we will have this option, we won't choose an offer that includes breakfast||Overall, for a 2* hotel it offers very good...
